VN's very own political meme thread...

I have zero sympathy for the coal mining companies. They're known for bullying land owners and skirting/breaking environmental laws. I think most East Tennesseeans would feel the same way if we saw the tops of mountains tore off. I know it employees a lot of people but I'm still not a big supporter.

Now as far as Hillary, she got called out and was struggling for the right words to cover her a%%

Some coal owners are good, and some are dirt bags like you mentioned. My dad mined all his life, and about most of my friends dads, so I heard plenty of stories.

When I was a young sailor I once saluted a Greyhound driver, I thought he was an Air Force officer.

HAHA...that's a good one. When I lived outside of Norfolk the only good thing the Navy offered was golf courses and girlfriends. The ships would leave and the bars and clubs were packed with significant others

Oh no, I couldn't pull off white bell bottoms with loafers. Looked much better in green with jump boots.

I never understood the whole bell bottom thing with them...even when they'd wear those blue jean things with the blue shirts. It's like the uniforms got made in '77 and never updated. I should say much, never like AF Blues...ugh must have been designed in a van down by the river

Believe it or not, the bell bottoms and the flap on the back are traditions that go back to the days of sail. The bell bottoms came about when sailors had to swab the decks of the old man'o'wars. They could roll them up to keep from getting them wet. The flap on the back of the dress blues and dress whites were to prevent tar from getting on the uniforms. In the days of wooden ships and canvas sails, sailors used tar to keep their hair straight and neat (semi). The flaps protected the uniform itself. Traditions that were passed down in the form of the uniform from the sailors of old.

Fwiw, I am pretty sure the air heads couldn't handle this.
