The Tennessee baseball team dropped its first mid-week decision of the season, falling 10-6 to Presbyterian (18-11) on Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Junior Zach Osborne and sophomore Chris Fritts each had a pair of hits for the Volunteers (19-10) in the loss.

Same problem they had against the Gators. They did not score first, to many wasted opportunties before the 9th. They gave up to many runs which also produced the problem of the Vols having to switch to pitchers more than on Sunday's game vs the Gators.
The Vols finally got a inning with scoring more than one run in the 9th but it was to little to late. They lost the game which is negative but they did not quit, and the fact they had hits to end the game that produced their final 3 runs of the game I think they feel better with the hitting more than before this game.

I thought we scheduled OOC Middle School teams so we could actually beat them.

Any athletic program at Tennessee losing to a team named after a denomination should be grounds for automatic termination.

This looks familiar...

Give it up, Todd.

Breaking News...Hamilton just announced that UT will be letting the head coach go because it's time for UT to seek a new direction.

Oh, no wait, that was what he announced when he fired Delmonico and brought in Raleigh. Well, I'll give Hamilton one thing...he was right when he said the program was going to have a change in direction.

Double post much?

And I love how you say "they lost the game which is a negative". Understatement of the day.

raleigh has made this program into a complete joke.

it's sad because this program has gone to the CWS in 2005 & 2001

and since raleigh we have not even made the SEC Tourney....the top 8 go!

pit-ti-ful

The "switching pitchers" thing is a common "tactic" for TR in midweek games. He likes to pitch the entire bullpen one inning......

UT had a chance to hire Phil Garner (pre-DelMonico) & Rick Honeycutt (pre-Raleigh) as the baseball coach. From what I've read, both men wanted that job at the time. Doug Dickey wouldn't even talk to Phil & Hamilton ignored Honeycutt. Both are proven teachers & leaders in addition to being former Vol baseball greats. What's going on?
