Less than one hour until your weekly dose of Vol audible entertainment.
Notes:
-47% of team making first road trip ever wearing orange.
-Productive practice today.
-Need to start faster.
-We handled the short week well. Found a way to win.
-We've done well on third down on defense. Only one turnover, limited penalties and we are scoring TDs in the red zone. 12/13 this year in the red zone.
-Oklahoma is 88-5 at home. Their o-line is bigger than the Green Bay Packers.
-Great opportunity. National tv. Prime time. Excited for the opportunity.
-We have to weather the storm. Keep playing. Don't look at the scoreboard, just get the game to the fourth quarter.
-Had a team meeting today. Guys watched practice from Cincinnati to watch style of play.
-Today we were back to our style. Guys on the field 35 minutes after practice.
-Von Pearson will not make the trip. Out a few weeks.
-Sutton has done a tremendous job all year matching up against the opponents best receiver. He's a warrior.
-Coleman has done a good job in nickel. Williams has helped.
-At safety, getting some competition. TK Jr had valuable live game reps with the game on the line. Randolph was nicked up and didn't expect him to play much but he stepped up. His experience was at a premium. He's healthier than last week.
-We have to get the ball on the perimeter. Make some plays. We need to control the football and run the ball.
-We have to put the ball in the hands of our playmakers and create some one-on-one opportunities that way.
-The more you win the more that's at stake. Tennessee is a national brand. This game is good for our program.
-Worley: great accuracy, extremely poised and he's distributed the ball well. He has to manage the game and command the line of scrimmage and communicate at championship level. On the road, communication is essential.
-A lot of these youngsters aren't used to practicing much. In high school they just showed up on Friday. But we are finally into an in-season routine, which is very beneficial for us.
-Coleman Thomas is an individual we will rely heavily on. We may have two true freshmen on the offensive line at the same time.
-Sutton played over 90 snaps Saturday in 100 degree temps. May see Carter some more returning punts.
-Asked about Worley running: We will see some of that. He needs to get down and slide. We've also played with a backside tight end more this year which eliminates some of those reads. We've got to get Hurd going as well.
-Wolf will make the trip and will be available.
-Tomorrow is no sweat Thursday. Extensive meetings and walk through. We shut the body down and rest for 24 hours. Friday we will have a 35 minute practice and sweat a bit, have some meetings and jump on a plane to Norman.
