So, if you're not successful in your profession, how many years would your boss give you to succeed?

I wasn't successful for my first 4 years in my own business (almost went bankrupt) but I kept working at it and now its better then I ever thought it would be. Glad no one was ever there to fire me too soon.

I still see your point and I'm not saying give him 4 years but to say he doesn't deserve more time isn't smart business.

Not so fast my friend,, I never made excuses for poor play,,,I never said I was OK with all phases of the game,, I just have a BIG ASS problem with all the negativism of a lot of VOL fans on this board.
And don't EVER refer to ME as a so called VOL Fan...
So you don't wish to be considered a Vol fan?

There's been progress? Where? I haven't seen it.

Did you see two Vol running backs have runs of over 50 yds today? Did you see Worley's second TD pass? Did you see freshman receivers Smith, Croom and Branisel have 7 catches for 92 yds and 2 TD's? Did you see the defensive play of true freshmen Sutton and Vereen?

I am sorry you are unable to see any progress. I can.

Irony: VolenteerSpirit calling fans idiots.

I was not calling all vol fans idiots. Just the ones that direct their frustration onto the players, and coaches without being constructive.

As for my screen name, the correct version was in use on either this site or TOS. I cannot recall which. Though the content of my post stands regardless of my name.

Talent is not as disparaging as it seems right now. Depth is still a bit lacking.
We do have talent, we just don't have talent that is familiar and comfortable with the assignments at this time.
I think we as fans should ask the important question... Are the things fans say going to help or hurt that process of development, or totally undermine it.
I for one am glad to see the progress they are making. Do I wish it were faster.. sure. Is there magic water to pour on the bamDoozle to repair the lack of cohesive coaching over the last 5 years... NO.
It is going to take as long as it takes, talking trash to the young men in the trenches is only going to make that process longer. When every onfield decision or mistake they make is being thrown at them, it takes their attention away from growing into their talent.
My comment about putting the players into a position to win, I think they are for the most part. Some things I would like to see, would be Neil taking some snaps in Slot.
With Young out, Worley really needs a go to reciever. He needs a target that will always be in position for a short high percentage completion.
Having Neil and Lane on the feild is more that defenses would have to consider.
I think it would open up those drag routes, and give us faster crosing routes. It would also clear some of the clutter and may allow Worley better reads to know when he can run.
The WR did much better today of staying on route, and reading their coverage.
Worley did much better at reading the secondary, and his WR.
The RB both did exceptional.
The Oline did better at getting faster jump off the line today, but still had some slip on blocking the DE.
There was progress, I do wish it were more consistent.
The defense did ok, but seemed to be drawn into bad zone reads. I believe that is a product of bad habits more so than speed. Against faster offenses, it looks like a lack of speed. Its not its bad habits of allowing themselves to be tricked into bad positions.
The good news is these things are all coachable problems, it just takes time to address them. There are so very many things they need to work on, they cannot just say its fixed and check it off a list. It takes work.
Our coaches are "working like heck" to get them ready.
Either help, or get out of the way vol fans
GBO, let's get ready to give a herculean effort against the dogs next week.
