Vols 20 point favorite over Air Force

I will be surprised if this game hasn't been decided by the end of the 3rd Quarter. Its a pre-Florida scrimmage. They put a soft team ahead of the big Florida game. To make sure the players are well rested.

If they were looking for a "soft" team they could have scheduled a DI-AA team... Air Force isn't quite the slouch you guys seem to think they are.

I think AF will make a game of it for about 2 quarters, and then UT should put them away for good by the end of the 3 Quarter.

Been doing a little homework on Air Force, and I think much of how the game plays out will depend on the intensity our D brings. Air Force returns a good deal of experience on an offense that's capable of running the wishbone & option beautifully against an unprepared or overconfident D. As one article noted, historically we have not faired too well against option O's. Personally, I think we have a distinct advantage with Chavis at the helm...he'll have the boys ready, I think. If we play half the D we brought against Cal, we should be fine 'cuz our offense will prob'ly score pretty much at will. IMO.

i'm not so sure our offense will just have their with Airforce. They run a 3-3-5 and that might give our offense trouble early. Arian has a big day on the ground, and I think we get 38 points.

Memphis runs that scheme very effectively.

I would assume we will have success running the ball straight up the middle against undersized defenders in a 3-3-5.

As little as anyone says they have athletically... could be a career day for Foster and Hardesty.

Air Force is more likely to run a 4-2-5 against UT with a guy named Jake Paulson (240 lbs.) at LDE being the biggest the D-front has to offer. Our O-Line, pound for pound, is bigger than every NFL team except 3. Running the 4-2-5, they expect to get some pressure on Ainge, but I don't see it happening. They may get some hurries early, but our massive offensive line will wear them down by halftime, I'm guessing.

AFA, promise us one thing...if things don't go, let's say, well for you on Saturday, you'll show up here after the game to take your medicine. Guys like you usually don't.

First off, even Tennessee does cut blocks. Everybody does. Especially on short, quick hitters. Also, cutting is legal as long as the player you're cutting isn't engaged with another player.

Since you missed it, a Gator fan started the "Florida vs. Tennessee" thread. You should rally the Central Florida faithful as well and tell them of this unspeakable tragedy that has occurred.

Mr Orange covered it in terms of legality in college football.

I'll cover your ridiculous wording.

You said PERIOD, as if it were fact. Guess what? It's not. If the NCAA committee who makes the rules thought it were dirty and cheap PERIOD, it would be illegal.

As Mr Orange said, UT does it, too.
