It would be nice to just finish higher than UK. Even though their class would still "be better."

While I'm happy with the job Pearl has done, this is the most uninformed post I've ever seen. You are talking about a hall-of-fame coach with a national championship. Pearl's record can't compare. By the way, Hat will be very happy that we signed Harris.

No I wouldnt. I loved Vols football before I even watched a Memphis Tigers Bball bame. I went to the U oF M which is where my love for their bball program came from. Good luck to the Vols on their season. Hold down that No.1 recruiting spot Memphis!..

I am a U of M alum as well and love the Tigers and the Vols. My dad went to UTK and raised us on UT football. I always have been a huge UT fan in basketball as well as football. Most of my closest friends went to UTK as well and are dual Memphis/Tennessee fans as well. Nothing wrong with that.

You guys should be happy to have any support in Memphis possible. This city produces tons of talent in basketball and holds its own in football talent production as well. We need to get some of these kids out of Memphis to stay in state and the fact they dont disturbs me. These guys have so many anti-UT influences in their ears all the time it sickens me that someone would encourage a born and raised Tennessean to go to a school in Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, or Alabama for ANY reason.

Yeah, if Memphis's football team was doing better, I'd be happy. However, when it comes down to head-to-head match-ups between Memphis and Tennessee, I always root for the big orange to win! Against anyone else, I root for Memphis to win.

What is wrong with people like that? I have seen tons of UTC fans that also are UTK fans as well on here.

I feel the same way about UK. I just want Kentucky to lose, lose, lose. I hope Tennessee scores 130 on them this year....

I see why, for various reasons, one can become a dual UT/UM fan. The only part I don't like is supporting different teams in the head-to-head matchups. If you wear blue to a basketball game between UM and UT, then you don't deserve to wear orange when the schools meet in football, IMO.

What I am talking about is fans that root for UT football and Memphis basketball because they are each traditionally good. I just think it's a joke for "fans" to chose one school that is usually good in one sport, but chose another school for another sport because they are usually good in it.
