Wonder what all the UGA fans think about Richt raking them in down in Miami. I don't like the Canes, but if Tennessee can't win a natty, I would lmao if Richt did it down there. GBO! Really happy with our class right now.

10-win SEC HCs don't grow on trees.

There are two or 2 or 3 our 3* that are extremely likely to end up 4* soon due to camp performances this summer.

The average will look very good soon, no way to spin this start negatively.

You tell 'em Eric.

Also, I saw you interacting with the South Carolina fans in the Dorian Gerald/Jaycee Horn threads over on cockytalk. I don't get how you do it. They're pretty bad with their condescension towards us.

I tell you what is surprising to me. Richt has not gotten a single commit from GA. After all those years you would think he would get a few GA kids. I guess when you are in FL, you can load up on 4-star players and never leave FL.

Richt is from florida.

Their are guys out there. Just have to pay them. Our big $ folks have beem the set back of TN.football. TN should be a 10 win team most of time in each decade imo. Time to know how to be winners....top to bottom

I thought this was thread-worthy and I want to see those words, "First in the SEC," pop up on the new threads list for a few days.

Granted, it's only July, but this staff has done a solid job with this class so far.

And Miami has almost twice as many 4 stars. Plus Nama hasn't even started. Great momentum. Encouraging, but rank doesn't mean a thing until the final ranking.

True but I hear from old friends down south that Bama has 6 silent commits from 5*s. They will announce 2 or 3 at a time to enhance late recruiting.

Goes along with their 37 National Championships.

That's the fallacy that gets repeated by fans over and over again. Just paying buggy bucks doesnt guarantee a 10 win coach in the SEC. It's not that easy.

They're doing a great job. First in the SEC and 3rd in the country? Doesn't get any better than that. Hopefully they can hang somewhere near both positions and continue adding players to strengthen the roster where needed. Beyond impressed.

Walt Wells has really surprised me on the recruiting front. Dude is killing it. I hope his coaching ability matches his recruiting skills. If so....whoa.

Freak, you've been around as long as I have, negative Nancy's will always exist.

Regardless of what the final ranking will be, this is just another indicator that Butch does not give up or throw in the towel, he is dedicated and loves Tennessee.....that is all I want to see in any person. We all will fail in life, but those that have "grit" will always keeping trying. If Butch was just a guy and not the coach, I could be friends with him.....God, Family and UT Football.....I see that in him.

You sir are a true vol and 100% correct

Agree. Great hire to help pull in state talent due to tons of great relationships. Stroke of genius by Butch on that front. Now, can he coach up his OL? Not sure about techniques and schemes, but from what I heard he's demanding they play with more toughness and nastiness. If true, if they do that for him, he will have been possibly the best hire Butch made this off season when I had Wells pegged as easily the worst. Pass the crow .......

If our OL jump in front of someone instead of watching as they run past, I'm calling instant improvement.

You could have picked anyone and upgraded over Mahoney. Looking back, Pittman was here and wanted the job. Butch set himself back years with that move.

Thats the thing about CMR. He always recruits well, has nothing to show for it.
