From the morons at bleacher report. Not going to post a link to spare you the stupidity. Said with a top 10 class the expectations for a 10 win season were abound. From who?

These guys are making a living off those stupid slide shows and so called "page hits". Delete the app and link just like I did 1 minute ago.

I have only seen a handful of folks here say anything about a 10 win season and know for a fact that a couple of them were being facetious.

Some kind of crossover with The Onion going on at Bleacher Report? How can a team that is almost universally considered to be having to fight for a bowl bid being "over-hyped"?

That's my thoughts as well. Anyone that's not a total homer, and has any credibility at all sees us as a 5-6 regular season win team.

Seriously, most media reports have us going 4-8 or 5-7. But based on that we are "over hyped."

This guy must hates us. Was he a former ESPN reporter?

Another example of incompetent people with a megaphone. Facts don't matter. Their sources must be from some of the VN sunshine pumpers----or they just made it up.

Reminds me of that ESPN "expert" who reported that FSU won both the first and last BCS natty. Does VN have more accuracy and credibility than ESPN? Probably.

I seen a lot of things posted here, but I haven't seen anyone say were gonna win ten games this season. I've seen some people say as many as nine. Most are realistic and say hopefully six wins.
I think you have to have four top ten recruiting classes in a row to have a shot at ten wins in the SEC the league is brutal.

And there are also BR articles talking about how underrated we are. Big season ahead.

It's BR. They hire as many people to write these articles as they can and literally cover all their bases.

This should come as a shock to no one.

Yeah, I would say 90% have said 5-7, or 6-6. I'm thinking 6-6 myself. It would be a pleasant surprise if we could win one more than that. I like surprises.

I wonder if they mean over hyped in the sense that everyone is talking about how well Butch is doing. Could be thinking why are we wasting so much air time on a team that is fighting for a bowl game berth. After all, coach jones has been predicted to win coach of the year. Does anyone think he could win that with a 6-6 team? He might win it with a 7-5 record IMO.

Overhyped to me means media, not fans. Cant find a media member anywhere that has the Vols better than 7 wins, most have at 5 or 6. Hardly overhyped.

My overhyped would be LSU. Lost a TON of good football players the last two yrs and their QB position appears shakey....at best.

I'm highly (overly?) optimistic about the coming season, but even I don't really think we'll get more than 7 or 8 wins. And that would be ONLY if the team stayed uncommonly healthy! Given the brutal schedule, lack of depth, and entirely new offensive and definsive lines, going 6-6 is more likely, and another 5-7 season is definitely possible (ugh!).
