Actually the team with T Smith, Chism and Hopson that was #14 only went 21-13 . No 9 seed first round l.



NYC are you missing my point on purpose? People are saying with Pearl we only lose 4 games and are top15 right now.

Pearl had a year with better talent by far. That team had a weaker schedule, was ranked top 15 preseason , had no distractions and still had a year like this one. So to act like Pearl won every game he "should have" is a lie. So someone can't say Pearl would do so and so when he did less with a couple of seasons.

I don't know if Martin is the long term answer yet. First year no returning contributors, picked 11 of 12 finished 2. Next year loses top returning scorer bit still finishes where projected with him and improves from first year. This year not ranked, so far has improved greatly from previous year. If we make the tourney i think he deserves another year.

Do i think he is a top ten coach ? No . Do I think he is the worst like some idiots do? No. Do I think he has improved his players and team every year? Yes. He took MSU to 26 and 27 wins. He won 19 and 20 here. I think we get 20 something this year.

And that is my point. That schedule (Pearl's last year that you referred to in previous posts) was much more difficult than this year.

I guess I'm wondering what other evidence you need? You see the results on the court. You have countless people that are pointing out deficiencies in the way our team is coached. Do you think we are doing this because we don't like the man and we just want constant change within our program?

And now we have had multiple national columnists point out that our team is both underachieving and not well coached. At some point people who think Zo can coach start sounding like the Iraqi Minister of Defense.

No extension from Hart last season for Martin so he is on the fence of him being the long term answer as well.

I think we can find about anyone to roll the ball out and pray that the outside shot is falling so I don't see Martin deserving an extension, tourney or no tourney.

Wrong . The sos is 11 this year matching the highest of Pearl's years. The 19 win season it was 18th. So they were ranked higher than this year, had more talent and a weaker schedule. They still won only 19 games averaged only 69 ppg and lost by 30 in the first round. I'm sure we'll win more than 19 games and we won't get beat by30. in the tourney.

lol!! So you think Watson, Lofton, Smith, Patterson, Asumnu, Bradshaw, etc, weren't SEC caliber players?

Granted, Bruce is 10x the coach Buzz was so he obviously did more with them, but there's no denying the pieces were there. He didn't take a bunch of scrubs as you're saying and make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

lol! I would take the 05-06 Vols over the 11-12 Vols starting off as a coach if I had a choice.

Oh. Didn't realize this season was over. I'm sure that playing aTm again, Auburn again, UGA, Vandy, Mizzou x 2 and MSU will have a positive effect on that SOS. I'm sure it will be tougher than Pearl's year.
