Vols Baseball Program is Getting Worse...

Maybe we should start looking at some established coaches like Dave Cerrano at Cal Fullerton to come turn our sinking program around? Does anyone think he would come back here? Wasn't he an asst. back in the late 90's? He seems to be a winner.

We could probably pay more than CSF, but that's would be a step down. They've recently won a title (or more?) and Orange County maybe has more talent than the entire state of Tennessee. Even with all the good baseball programs down there, there's plenty of players to go around.

I agree with your comments. But Tennessee need to think big when hiring the next coach. It wouldn't hurt to see if a guy like Cerrano would come back. He came here once and was part of those teams success he may want to come back. We need to do something. What is going on now just isn't good enough for our expectations.

I have only been a Vol baseball fan for 2 years but I have been a baseball fan my entire life. Even though the Vols are having their struggles this year its still to me very exciting to watch them play win or lose.

Its nice getting out of work and driving an hour or so up to the park and catch the games. I do understand how frustrating it can be to watch your team lose but hey that's why they play the games.

I don't believe the Vols baseball program is doing poorly because of lack of tallent I think these kids need support of their fans, and just some confidence knowing they can compete with any team.

Baseball is a funny sport, because you could have a under par team best a superior team on any given day.

I really do like all the updates on this site for the Vols baseball, and I will support them regardless, its fun.
Probably the most interesting, sanctimonious, perplexing and contradictory post in Vol Nation history. Good effort...

LOL well maybe I should have prefaced my comment first. Anyway I was born and raised in the NorthEast and up there college sports come 2nd, I mean heck Notre Dame is the most followed college team up there along side Boston College.

I moved to TN in 2003, I am 27 now so 22 years I lived up north, and I didnt really follow college baseball or football just pro stuff. So when I moved down to TN it was a shock to see all the college stuff down here.

A few years ago I moved into a department at work, and I met a coworker that is a die-hard vols fan, and he started getting me into it. I am more of a baseball fan than a football fan so I tend to care more about how the baseball vols are doing over the football ones.

The reason I love college baseball is because it really puts the fans close to the action, interaction with players, and its just pure baseball regardless of win or lose.

Well thought Id just post that here, I really hope tomorrow isn't a rain out I am looking forward to it.
