Vols best case scenario for Saturday

I agree but they wouldn’t move Texas below us. They’ve been artificially ranked too high all year like Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame
Yeah probably, but if Texas loses to UGA, they will not have beaten a single top 25 team in the final poll. I’m not sure how you can say their resume is better than UT if the committee starts comparing teams to place team lower.

I actually think UGA beating Texas by 3+ touchdowns drops them below us, they don’t have a ranked win, Georgia has multiple plus the head to head. Also peen state getting beat bad could be interesting, they likely go below Ohio state but idk about below us

I completely agree with that. I just how how this committee is. The big names get the biggest rewards regardless

TX won’t get punished for losing

No matter how these games affect Tennessee ( we're probably a road team, period)
I'm pulling for ga to beat Texas. I can't stand either program but I definitely don't want Texas wading in here and winning the conference in their first season. Their fans are already insufferable. Can you imagine if they win the conference championship. Geez
Georgia has one more SEC championship than Tennessee, putting them in second place and us in third. No way I am pulling for George to extend that lead.

People are forgetting no matter what the ticket split is. This is basically a home game for UGA.
I disagree. A home game is entirely different. You lose all your traditional pregame on campus pageantry (Volwalk, for example). You don't dominate the stands with 95% of the fans. You don't have your home game announcer stirring up the fans after every play. You don't have your Jumbotron operator stirring up the fans and players with dramatic videos. You don't have sole use of the field during halftime to further stir up the fans. It's far from a "home game". It just happens to be geographically close to Athens. That's all.

If this scenario where Penn St and UGA lose and the committee doesn’t drop them then the championship games will lose significance. The question is how much they drop them.

Think a big UGA loss is our only chance to get a home playoff game. Doubt Penn state drops below #8 at worse with a loss.

Exactly...I think crowd would be 60/40 Ga max

Unfortunately I see UGA handling TX again pretty easily
I think that's what will happen too... but I guess it all depends on who shows up

Hoping for someone to get blown out so we can slide up a spot and get a home game at neyland

I understand keeping tally but it's been 18 years for the Volunteers.
Again I'm not fan of Texas or any team showing up and winning the conference their first year as a member..
Honestly what does that say about the conference?

We really just need Penn State to get spanked. Also, while we are being optimistic, I am hoping for a close Clemson win:

1Oregon
2Georgia
3Boise St.
4Arizona St
5Notre Dame
6Texas
7Ohio State
8Tennessee
9Penn State
10Indiana
11Clemson
12SMU

Our road to a championship would be something like: Penn State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Georgia.

SMU over Bama would make a lot of folks' heads explode since it would sorta be a pin in their balloon of a theory that Bama is in now because of their brand and TV ratings. But I agree with you...Penn State is a lot harder to see moving behind us than Ga

Yeah but just noticed that my rankings don’t work because they won’t have Ohio State hosting Indiana again
