Vols fall 12 spots to #23 in the AP poll

There are 130 FBS teams. If we go by percentages, the "top 25%" would be Teams 1-33.

Personally, I don't believe this team, as it currently stands, is top 25%. So not only would I not put UT in the Top 25, I don't think they belong in a hypothetical Top 33.

We all have our opinions. This is mine. FWIW, ESPN FPI has UT at #24, which I think is too high.

Go Vols.

2 straight weeks of garbage football and our season outlook looks completely different.
I would contend that we’ve had 3 weeks of garbage football. We didn’t look particularly good against Virginia either. Something is off with this team, and has been all year. We’re all grasping at straws trying to figure out what it is.

Assumed we would fall out…. Not sure we deserve to be in the top 25

So, were we still keeping things vanilla against UF? I was told that’s what we were doing in the APSU game.

Not even concerned about rankings at this point. Austin Peay foreshadowed last night's disaster. I would rather see this staff get these guys ready to play and see improvement quickly over the next three weeks, if it's possible. Also hope CJH is having very frank discussions with assistant of what he expects going forward. I expected to take a bit of a step back this year, but these guys just flat out weren't ready.

Teams are judged by big games. Every other year unfortunately Vols have played Gators and Bama away which is a huge challenge. The Bama game looms larger now if this team truly can rise up and compete on the road in the SEC.

The season is still young and if these guys can get the lead out - Mays back and clean up the idiotic penalties - this could be a decent team. However, they have to step it up immediately to avoid embarrassment to UTSA and South Carolina. Some of the 5th year players need to be replaced if screwups continue. Yes enjoy the current ranking which is generous and was gifted by the Hooker, Hiatt, and others in the NFL now.

I think UTSA is where we really pull out the playbook. We didn't want to show it to FLA because we were afraid they would copy it. I said it after the AP game to my father in law, what your see is what you get. That's our offense for this season and that's not good.
