7200 calories and 350 to 400 grams of protein in a day is insane. Especially the protein intake...amazing if their bodies can actually use close to that much. Wow...for reference, everything i have read says the most protein a grown man can take in at 1 meal and actually use is 30 to 40 grams depending on size/activity. The rest just gets passed as waste. With all their meals plus smoothies/shakes/bars etc 8 or 10 times a day these linemen take in 350 to 400 grams of protein. For reference, a big chicken breast or 1/4lb burger is about 10 grams of protein. Try to take in 40 of those a day lol.
The 30-40 grams seems to be more urban myth than hard science. Protein ingestion varies wildly based on carb intake, (time of) exercise & your natural biological markers. Age, race, genetics and type of exercise all factor into the equation. Would be silly to put a number on something like that. The 30-40 may be accurate for an average person who remained stationary but certainly wouldnt be true for a SEC linemen or Strongman contender.7200 calories and 350 to 400 grams of protein in a day is insane. No one is saying he shouldn't be eating what he's eating. People get paid a lot of money to decide what he eats and how much. It's just kind of shocking to see, visually.C'mon, guys. I recall the story of Michael Phelps eating 10,000 calories a day while training. He gained no weight because training for about 6 hours a day at his pace is not something anyone does for fun.
These kids are young and are getting WAY more exercise than you are watching yoga pants and ponytails swish in the gym. Plus, Mays is an offensive lineman and those guys are supposed to be an absolute load to move.
NFL O-lineman usually lose major weight when they retire. Cooper Mays can eat whatever the hell he wants for the next few years and good for him.
Y'all just jealous.
They might keep tight tabs on what Bru or Squirrel eat but I bet Cooper has a loooooong leash. No one is saying he shouldn't be eating what he's eating. People get paid a lot of money to decide what he eats and how much. It's just kind of shocking to see, visually.
Body builders don’t even take in that much. Usually it’s broken into 6 meals a day of the roughly 30-40 grams of protein so that your body isn’t adding unnecessary fat.7200 calories and 350 to 400 grams of protein in a day is insane. 6,000 to 7,000 calories a day is not normal lol not for anyone.
For reference Pro Lineman try to eat a gram of protein per lb they weigh. They also eat around 3500 - 5000 calories.
So I would say Cooper is over the intake they want him to be at. Atleast in this video.
