Vols Fall Practice #10

Two things:
1) It feels like we may have the best LB group in years. I can't really remember when we've had better than solid starters and backups.
2) Does it seem like to anyone else that Mays always has some nagging injury? Too bad for him because he's really good and we need him out there.
He was solid all last season.

If any starters get injured this late in fall camp with 2 basically
scrimages to start the season, shame on the coaches.

I'm reserving judgement until I hear what 'minor' is ...OFFICIALLY. I face a bit of a conundrum....
...I respect and support Heupel's vagueness and need to adhere to HIPAA restrictions as a coach. :^))))
...As a fan, it makes me a little bit antsy and disquieted. Okay ... a lot, not a little .... :^))))

It would be devastating if it happened, but the players have to get game ready. They can't be wrapped in bubble wrap during practice and expect to be able to handle it when the team with the other color comes head hunting.

"Tim Banks and Jaylan McCollough were also encouraging the safeties on the day, saying to not cut any corners and push through as it is the 10th day of practice and fall camp is beginning to feel pretty redundant about now."

Probably because Martinez was busy being a terrible coach.

Do you know which position group he coaches?

Martinez doesn't coach safeties, Banks does.

Sorry but this is just dumb. Dude we are three weeks from the start of the season. They HAVE to go full speed to simulate an actual game. You can't jog your way through camp and expect to be ready for the speed of a game. Injuries happen. Joe Burrow got a calf strain on a roll out completely untouched. As to the injuries in camp, as others have pointed out, camp is a grind and it is important to make sure players have rest and anyone with even slight muscle pain get rest to avoid real injuries. I think as we get closer to the start of the season you will see some of these players like Walker and Macdonald getting back. This is the way NFL teams run their training camps.
