Wonder when we’ll hear more about special teams. I’m curious who our returners are, particularly if Boo or the Harmon kid who walked on from Catholic get a shot.

Ethan Davis dinged up? Haven’t read of him in the last couple.

The reports about a bad routes on air session are not great, but don't break down in chicken little syndrome. If it continues, then worry. This is the reason they practice before the season. If they struggle with one route tree, then they will work it a bit longer. If our first game was this weekend, maybe be worried.
Good or bad reports mean 0 when you only see a few periods of practice… essentially warm ups though you do want to see them crisp but it has minimal info on how the team is actually doing… it is fairly normal for the team to be a little off into the second week of camp which should improve with Reps and getting back acclimated to full pads.

The Volunteers will have an off day on Saturday following Friday night's scrimmage. They'll get back to work on Sunday morning with practice No. 9 of camp.

And Patrick Wilk is right behind Bishop and in front of dos scrub scholly RBs Keith, Lewis, and Sheldon....

There has been only one serious injury? These things happen in every single fall camp across the nation
And some might not even be injured - just taking preventative measures and working the other guys more. The most important thing Sampson can do right now is avoid any kind of injury and with the injury to Seldon the other RBs all need reps.

It sure dampens my enthusiasm when we are trying to build a roster and there are so many injuries. Especially when we have yet to have our first scrimmage and it seems we always get nailed there with something major.
Might be a ploy. A man who never was tactic. To deceive the enemies into thinking we're just hype and nothing more. A sloppy team going nowhere. Providing overconfidence, ending up poorly prepared for the assault to come. Making otherwise smart foes, dumb. Unaware that something wicked this way comes.

It will be interesting to see how many players Tennessee holds out of the scrimmage on Friday night, but the Vols were a pretty complete football team during practice this morning.

I understand wanting to ease into physical practice and being cautious with players coming off injury. But we can’t kid gloves forever, but I think our staff is just trying to pace everybody and gradually pick it up as we get closer. I don’t think we have anybody that is seriously injured besides Jourdan Thomas. Yes, they are taking it easy with Seldon but I think many guys will be coming out of red shirts soon. Campbell will probably be limited during week all year until gameday. Much like Billy Ratliff in 98. If he performs like Billy did that will be great. GBO

Folks tend to forget that coaches, coach, we're just fans, and don't coach.

Oh boy

WR depth chart in those drills:
1s: X - Bru McCoy, Y - Squirrel White, Z - Kaleb Webb, H - Holden Staes
2s: X - Dont'e Thornton, Y - Chas Nimrod, Z - Trey Weary, H - Miles Kitselman
3s: X - Nathan Leacock, Y - Dayton Sneed, Z - Nate Spillman, H - Ethan Davis

If you didn't.....go back and read the link about what Kelsey Pope has to say about the receiving crew!!! Receivers playing multiple positions, building the culture of competition! Our receivers are gonna be a nightmare for DC's this year....I hope!!

Y'all need to chill on the hand wringing over the minor injuries and players being held out. We still have over three weeks of tough physical practices before the first game. This is the way NFL camps are run. The coaches are making sure the players are as fresh as they can be to start the season. As we approach game week you will see fewer players held out and those with minor injuries be more involved. Coach Heupel and the staff know what they are doing.
