The more I see stuff like this:

Doneiko Slaughter, Kamal Hadden and Gabe Jeudy-Lally continue to be the most impressive looking Tennessee cornerbacks to me.

The more I hope our lineup looks like this:

CB: Jeudy-Lally
CB: Hadden
NB: Slaughter
S: McDonald
S: Walker

I think that lineup could shut some folks down…especially considering how much help I think they will get up front

With some promising, young talent backing them up...........

Call me a sunshine pumper idc, but I just feel like Milton is going to explode this year. Every report I’ve seen says he’s improved dramatically. This team can beat anyone on their schedule; when’s the last time we’ve said that going into a season?

IMHO…the backups would be a good combination of promising, young talent and savvy, experienced veterans…

It’s crazy how things change. Post Florida game last year we all thought Hadden was our best corner. After the uscjr game we alll wanted him off the team. Now he’s supposedly one of our best corners again. Hope he keeps his head on.

Being one of our best corners last year wasn’t anything to write home about. I’m hoping all the optimism some have for our defensive backfield isn’t wrong, but I’ve got to see it before I’m comfortable. Of course with the wide open offenses most teams run, no body looks real good there, but we were God awful last year. If we could just have one shut down corner.

Have you read anything about Slaughter playing at NB? I have not seen it.

Not all of them mentioned him, but if Addison Nichols is pushing for 1st team reps at guard, that’s a good sign for this year and beyond, imo.

Have you read anything about Slaughter playing at NB? I have not seen it.

I haven’t read anything specifically…but my logic is this…

1. These reporters see a small part of the practice before they are made to leave so maybe more is going on than they know about…

2. Slaughter has played there before and most opinions I’ve read are that he’s not a true CB and is playing there out of necessity (see Justin Coleman)…

3. Just based on my admittedly untrained eye he doesn’t appear to have “boundary corner” attributes and favors what I’m use to seeing in a NB…

4. From what I have read, I do believe those 5 are the best combination we could put on the field to start the UVA game

No, he is certainly not. They mention him in the write up for Fall Practice X. Cam is doing great. He's been mentioned before.
