It's just the "shove in your face" method about it volly. I really couldn't care less about American Idol or the people competing on it, regardless of fan affiliation. Wouldn't have commenting at all on it really if it weren't the first 4 threads stickied on mobile lol.

Well, let's see. I am supporting a guy who is a Vols fan, (even though he went to MTSU ~cause that's never happened before) who is choosing to support the Tennessee Vols by wearing hats, and ties, etc and getting shout outs on a nationally televised TV show.....versus a guy (Ras) who takes every opportunity he can to showcase people of the female gender in a light that portrays them as whores and *****es.

What am I missing exactly?

Sorry, I stickied three threads in three forums. I happen to like that the kid represents the Vols. I thought other people on a Vols message board might like it too. My bad.

That Ras is a V4L. That since Ras has a view you disagree, he can't get a stickied thread to support him?

I'm not an 'insider' in fact I'm an infrequent poster but isn't there something in the rules about addressing the post not the poster and not being rude....if I'm mistaken I apologize...besides I would think a mod would attempt to remain above the fray and set a positive example?

I still see it as a talent show/competition...the public votes and contestants get eliminated each week. That can turn into a popularity contest of sorts. :ermm: But, imho, the talent that has come out of this show from the top 10 contestants over the past few years - kids who've gone on to be truly successful - has been amazing. I love music and find that listening to these young people sing and grow in their talent truly moves me and takes me away from the everyday for just a bit...:yes:

---kinda like the escape I will get every Saturday when it's Football Time In Tennessee! :p

You really have a problem with encouraging support for the guy? Or you just like the sparring? (Serious question btw. I like back and forth jabbing, but it's hard to know how serious people are taking it on a message board. Face to face with people is obviously a lot easier.)

Daughtry is one of my all time favorites from the show. He didn't make it til the end. But he made it. I am a big fan of his!

My two other all time favorites from the show are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Both are RIDICULOUSLY good singers! Amazing voices!! That time Carrie sang How Great Thou Art, with Vince Gill, is one of the greatest vocal performances ever recorded in my opinion.

Absolutely Agree. I also love Crystal Bowersox and David Cook has been successful too!
