What the Titans don’t seem to realize is just how much income in merchandise and ticketing they left on the table passing over Hendon. He would have paid for his own salary just in jersey sales and other licensed swag in his first season, even if he didn’t play a single snap. Pretty short sided from a strictly business standpoint if nothing else. Tennessee is different from most other NFL states in that the college team still commands more loyalty than the pro team. A wise front office would take that into consideration.

You really don't build your team around picking the hometown football hero but instead on needs.
With that being said the way the Titans runs their offense Levis is going to hand off to Henry, hand of to Henry, pass and pray the WR catches and then Punt.
Hooker could easily have done that, even if you didn't see him as your future and went hunting for a QB next year. Reddit says it's only Vols fans upset about the pick but there are more Vols fans than Titans fans and Vols fans sure tuned in to see Dobbs and would go to the games to send Hooker and buy his jerseys in big numbers.
They want to build that new stadium in Nashville. May as well filled Nissan stadium this season.

Truth is Titans after they couldn't get their QB in the 3rd spot they wanted to trade up, they should've passed on QB's this year and filled other positions of need and then went all in on a 1-3 spot QB even if they traded up a lot to get it done. Use the big $ war chest they'll have next year and filled out the rest.
Titans are still playing Jeff Fisher ball, look at the rest of the AFC trend with their QB's and offense.
A lot of people like him but I wish the Titans would move on from their Vrabel and go get a Offensive mind coach. Titans never develop QB's because the coach is always Defense, smash mouth we laugh at the Colts getting AR but their coach is an Offense guy and a QB coach.

So now the AFC South will have Trevor, CJ, Anthony, & Will as the future QB's of this league. TL will be great and I think CJ will get there. Big question on Anthony & Will, as measurable are there but can it be developed?

AR15 can't read a defense. Levi's can't either., but he also makes terrible decisions with the ball. I don't see the tools that the GMs are salivating over.

Will Levis is the second round equivalent to Tim Couch.

I always thought Couch had a future in the NFL, but he ran for his life and took more punishment than a body could take from day 1 in Cleveland.

He could have made it behind a good O-Line.

He was an average QB on a terrible team. He has a higher career rating than Archie Manning.
He had a career rating of 75.1 to 67.1 for Manning.

He was sacked 50 times in two different seasons and 166 times in 4 full seasons and 7 games in 2000.

He led that team to the playoffs once, and no other QB did it until BMayfield in 2020.

I think the idea he was an all-time bust is not quite correct.
I believe he earns a re-assessment and he was just average on a bad team. Not what is expected of a high 1st round pick, but not bad for the QB of those Browns teams.

It would be one thing if he had not been widely discussed as a Heisman frontrunner prior to the injury. To have his far superior production to Levis, with comparable physical skills, and to also have the Vols connection, and for the Titans to ignore all of that and instead say, "Yeah, we don't care about those millions of Vol fans, we don't care that they outnumber our fans a hundred to one, we're gonna go get the QB from UT's rival that is famous for pouting on national TV," that's pretty dense.

Uh.....Dobbs was very inaccurate. Hooker is deadly accurate. Look back at those perfect end zone throws of 40 yards or more that came down right in the receivers hands. A bunch of them.

Levis had the biggest game of his college career...as a senior no less...BOTH him and his coaches throwing shade at UT in the media...nationally televised, primetime Saturday night game...and he absolutely sheits the bed with 98(!!!) TOTAL passing yards and 3 int... a terrible stat line for a middle school QB, much less a HS or supposedly NFL talented QB???

Need I remind you fine folks that the same much maligned UT defense that wrecked Levis gave up 600 yards passing and 63 points to USCjr just 2 weeks later? Gave up 500yds passing to both Bama and Flarduh?? This was a terrible secondary that any good QB lit up last season. The secondary that kept us out of the playoffs and a good shot at another Chip....yet ole MayoBoy could not pass for even 100yds against us.

The Titans made a HORRIBLE pick, and it lost them tens of thousands of fans and potential fans in the process. Totally self inflicted. They did not even need to draft a QB this season, could have waited til next season and let Dobbs/Taneyhill fight it out for the starting spot this season.

Huge unforced error. I will not watch a Titans game with Levis at QB...from what i read here, there are many who feel the same way

I'm too traumatized by the Ken Whisenhunt days to get an offensive, pass orientated coach. We went 5-27 in those two seasons. But we do need one.

Uh.....I didn't compare their stats. There are a ton of great college QBs that never pan out in the NFL. ie - Tim Tebow. There is a big difference in college and the NFL. Hope that I'm wrong, but there is a reason that so many teams passed on him.

I agree but I was referring to their size. Not what's 'between the ears' as this pick does nothing for me personally to get excited about. Actually, their entire draft was bad, IMO. New stadium on the way and this is the draft they give fans for the future?? Not impressed at all

I could not care less about Kentucky. As a Titans fan living in Nashville, I actually think he is a steal at this point in the Draft and will prove the haters wrong. I’m fully in his corner now.

I will never forget the threads on this site in the days leading up to the Kentucky/Tn gams last fall. It was a constant drumbeat " Are we looking past Kentucky". " Kentucky is for real". Everyday was a new thread warning Tenn was about to run into a buzz saw ( Kentucky's defense and Will Levis blah, blah, blah ). Kentucky was over rated and so is Will Levis.

Yeah, I remember Levis saying they play real football just before he hung 97 yards and 3 ints on UT. I’ll be shocked if he does anything with the Titans
