Absolutely agree about his defense, however Goldens shooting was >>> than maze's, plus golden has shown to be a better passer, so that's why I give the push.

I personally think that what I look forward to most from this year's team is a lack of the roller coaster ups and downs of the last few seasons. I think this team beats all the teams it's supposed to beat and in the games it does lose there aren't any of the 25 point blow out, no-one showed up to play performances like we have seen in the past. As long as they make the second round of the NCAA tourney, I will be content with consistent effort and performance. I am guardedly optimistic that they can do better, but I would be satisfied with round of 32, a decent SEC tourney run, and no bad losses (either being blown out or upset).

This is EXACTLY how I feel.

I've predicted sweet 16, but my expectation or what would be a good sign IMO, is them making the dance and winning atleast 1.

Sorry guys I was drinking the MARTini haha. I was a little optimistic. I'll give Maze the edge just because he looks like AI (only of he would have had his crossover :) ) But I thought I saw somewhere that Maymon was playing the 5 I might be dreaming it up? That's why I put it like that, my mistake guys.

For what its worth...I THINK we will be a really good team...BUT maybe not a GREAT team....being really good can carry you a long, long, way....just ask some previous National Champion teams....JMO as well...

The way Martin talks about it he really doesn't designate a 4 or a 5 on offense. Defensively they defend however they feel gives them the best match-up. So usually that's going to be Stokes on the other teams biggest low post presence and Maymon on the other guy. So Stokes/Williams and Chism/Maymon are more likely comparisons than the other way around.

In my opinion, Maze was a shoddy defender. You guys forget the Ole Miss game where he was benched for Bone in OT?

I do remember that game for sure, but I felt like Bobby and JP were the only starters that brought the defensive intensity.

And Chism from January-April of 2010.

The thing about that Elite 8 team was how much those guys raised their game in the post season. We also had some pretty good role guys off the bench. We will see what happens with this squad

An Elite 8 wouldn't surprise me with this team. I know it's early to say that, but I'm optimistic for us.
