Vols get mugged by rebels and robbed by officials.

Teams usually don't start out shooting 3-18, and still win the game. Ice cold. That's all. Sh*t happens. Watch out NIT, UT is boss!

They put Trae on the floor everytime he went inside until he quit penetrating. Cuonzo seems to never have a plan for getting the hot shooter screened until he gets open.

richardson tipped an inbound pass and it hit a rebel in the face. the ref called it off UT and gave Ole miss the ball with 13 sec and UT was down by 2.

If you look closely at this play, the ref signals the play before the ball even clears the players? It hasn't gone out of bounds yet.

I've not seen anyone comment on Maymon's fifth foul. I didn't see anything he did that would be considered a foul on that play. Am I wrong on that?

On one drive, their player pushed off with a forearm twice on the same drive. It was a rare drive to the right, facing the goal. It seemed like pretty much everything went to the left all night.

I remember that play.... the refs let it go on all night.

It was physical on both ends. There were a of no calls that would have normally been called.
These refs bust have been on salary in stead of working by the hour.

the Refs called a good game. sorry we just didn't hit enough shots.

Our field goal shooting was awful. Pathetic. THIS is the reason we lost the game. Even 2 or 3 more buckets in the end would have won it for us. Horrid shooting is what killed this team. Been bad most of the season too.

well that is the same guy (Henry) who used his shoulder and pushing off with is forearms to get his shot off all game...cam was right there with him, but when he's that much bigger plus getting to push off it's pretty hard to stop

You still have to make him finish to his right, everytime.

Obviously poor shooting by the Vols. If we shoot even 40%, it is a win in spite of the awful officiating. Kind of tough not to be angry with the refs regardless.

While the out of bounds call was the final straw, the call that killed us was Maymon taking the charge and getting a double foul call. What the heck happened, they didn't give an explanation on that one. The way I see it, it is either a foul on Maymon or a charge on Ol Miss. How can it be both? Does anyone know what happened there? They called a charge then reviewed something and called one on Maymon as well. All they said we he was a secondary defender, heck most charges are by a secondary defender.

Posters can say the officiating was not at fault, when it was in a big way. When a team plays another team overly physical, the receiving team gets knocked off their shots (balance) as well as defensive position. The officials determine the flow and style of every game. The first half the physical fouls were called much of the time. In the second half it got even more physical and they were not called at the same pace at all. Part of the 28% shooting was as a direct result of the hits and shoves the Vols were expecting whether they actually happened or not.

The immaturity of the team and coaching staff led to backing down from being physcal and settling for 3's. They lost to Vandy and Alabama on the road the same way. In the first half Golden was knocked to the floor on several drives where fouls were called. In the second half Ole Miss stopped knocking him down and fronted him so he had to shoot floaters. McRae did the same thing and was just awful shooting - as well as having no clue on how to penetrate and dish. Inexperience plain and simple on how to attack a zone as well as to getting refs to respect your team.

Any poster that ever says McBee is a defensive liability or shouldn't start again deserves banishment from this board. He has more moxie than any player on the team since Dane. He takes generally the toughest defensive assignment in the other team's SG, wile covering their PG or SF whenever substitutions are needed. He never hogs the ball on offense and always waits until his team needs a lift or has to have a 3. Obviously and thankfully Coach Zo knows this.

28% shooting...and WE STILL took them to overtime...shows what defense will do...Maybe the most horrid shooting I've seen from the Vols in a while...BUT I am still pleased with the way the season turned out...

Seriously how can anybody blame this game on the refs? We got away with some offensive fouls in the game. They got a way with travels and the crap call at the end. We beat ourselves guys. I think Cuonzo didn't coach well against their defense play (left handed guy goes left on Cam 100 times).

I'm sorry.

"The refs were terrible on both ends" is no reason to stop blaming the refs.

Tennessee ball with 11 seconds, down by two? No bi***, not in SEC country. Ole Miss ball.

Which was BS. !!! We more than likely would gave tied it, but the way the game was going it wouldn't have mattered. But who knows, maybe McBee shoots a three, and we win. Hate to see it end like that. Very salty taste in my mouth over that.
