Vols in the All-American Games

The UA game seems to have the best WR and DBs. It could go a long way for determining whether we take another WR and three DBs instead of possibly just two (Denzie and Dixon/Elam). The EEs will be enrolled already so that'll clear the recruiting picture. The UA game will feature several guys we're probably not sold on giving a final spot to yet (speculating here):
James Stone, Demar Dorsey, maybe Dakota Mosley's a question mark still, perhaps Corey Nelson, LaDarius Owens, Justin Hunter.
Other commited or "silents" we may press harder w/ depending on their performance: Alec Ogletree, Todd Chandler, Chris Dunkley, Dietrich Riley.
We're after all of those that I just mentioned, but as stated earlier, this game is after the EEs will be enrolled and so we should know on Luc and Elam and a few others. We already have 22 commits and even though we could have 3 or 4 decommit we won't be able to take everyone. So the Army and UnderArmour games may help the staff determine who their final 2 or 3 spots should go to. The competition will give the best indicator to who's a "must take" and who's not. If Stone wants to be a Vol, ie, he better outshine the other OLs in practice and the game. Otherwise, we'll stick w/ our top 3 (JJames, Chaz, Cullen) and maybe, just maybe, a guy like Shon Coleman. If Hunter stands out or Dunkley is unguardable than we may put the full-court press on them despite seemingly not needing another WR and their current commitment/lean. This game may help us decide if we want to put the full-court press on a guy like Corey Nelson and/or Owens, also. Luc should already be enrolled so that'll be huge but Nelson's an OLB so Luc won't be as big a factor. Plus, C. Jones may be a NSD decision so I bet we'll be looking for Nelson or Owens harder if we aren't getting the vibes w/ C Jones, who I think is currently a UT lean.

It looks to me like the Under Armour game will have better depth, but the Army game is getting all the huge names...

I think the AAA game definitely needed to step it up this year. More people seemed interested in the UA game last year.

The UA game is run much more smoothly. It is simply a better football game and a lot more organized.

The Army game is boring, very politicized and poorly run.

Watching both games last year the UA game was MUCH better and they players looked like they wanted it vs the AA Game looked just like another all star game.

But the best part about the AA game is the East's coach. Coach Quarles is the best high school coach in the country!

This is an awesome thread, LV.

It's the kind of stuff that makes this forum so great.

Thanks for putting this together, updating it, and sharing it with us.

Go Future Vols!

Thought I'd resurrect this thread from "thread limbo" because there seems to be a lot of anxiety about kids not committing right now. IMO a lot of these prospects will commit during these games, especially EE's. Hopefully we will get our share!

LV started this thread & has an excellent list of Tenn. commits & prospects in the games on page 1. Thanx, LV. :hi:

UA game is Jan. 2 & Army game is Jan. 9.

IIRC Dietrich Riley is an EE, so I would think he would annouce during the UA game. Hopefully JaWuan James and Corey Miller, who are also EE's, will announce for the Vols there.

Jacques Smith, Markeith Ambles, & Brandon Willis are EE's in the Army game. Hopefully all Vols.

Hopefully when they get to these games they are going to recruit the prospects there really well and i wouldnt be shocked to get a commitment or two from a couple of the top players at these events
