Don't get too excited. UT's coaches were saying that we were going to be great during Spring practice last year too.
If I remember correctly, last spring the Offense was leaving a lot to be desired all Spring long. The comments about how good the team was going to be were more based on returning talent and potential.......everyone assumed the offense would come around. I remember several comments from Fulmer last spring about the offense needing to jell and about the sloppy offensive play in scrimmages.

I think Crompton would do well as a starter, but I think since Ainge has been through the ups and downs he is better suited to start for us.

Crompton is equally talented, but when you have two the same talent, one a junior, one a freshman, you play the junior.

even if the junior played like a freshman in high school last year. :devilsmoke:

Absolutely, using your logic the coaches can't coach. So wouldn't you rather have a junior who is going to play like a freshman versus a freshman who will play like a sophmore in highschool?

All three qb's played well. What worries me is the offensive line, but they are young and well jell hopefully. Ainge will be the man, he is playing extremely well right now.

what worries me is corey anderson 'scampering' 64 yards, rumbling....thundering...even churning....but scampering at his size??? :biggrin2:

Th Oline held their own yesterday, and thats without Aaron Sears playing a snap. But, its also with Dan Williams and Demonte Bolden starting at DT instead of Turk and Harrell.

According to people that know what they're talking about, the coaches feel pretty good about their starting five, and are realyl focused on building depth. Everyone has been really impressed with Steven Jones. A guy at practice yesterday said for the first time, Jones looked like he belonged out there going up against guys like Antonio Reynolds, Robert Ayers, etc.

As far as QBs go, Erik Ainge will be your starter this year. Cutcliffe is saying that Ainge is "firmly" the #1 QB while Hardegree and Crompton are splitting reps with 2nd team. Observer at practice said Ainge looked as comfortable, as confident, and as in control leading the offense as he has ever looked at Tennessee. Really played well.

That sounds great . Remember I brought up Marsalous Johnson (RS Freshman), he's good. 9 tackles pretty much equals that .

Not necessarily. Actually from reports, he only got 9 tackles because he was being picked on. It would be third and long and he would give up a big play and make the tackle.
