Regardless of your personal opinions about this movement, Pruitt proactively making it easier for his players to engage in something they deem to be critically significant (and that doesn’t directly impact the fans) is a great move across the board.

Difficult situation for Pruitt.
By supporting his players he also knows that this will upset part of his fan base.

Jeremy Pruitt is a genius. This is two weeks in a row he has figured out a good reason to move practice to the evening...keeping the lads out of bars downtown. Heh.

Seriously, I'm sure he is very sincere about supporting the young men. It's just nice when there is synergy in goals. :)

Probably a good thing we aren’t having full stadiums this year. Not trying to have the optics of 102,000 fans booing the players once they kneel on the sideline
Booing is only a hiccup compared to what the government would have done if they had caught Thomas Jefferson.

With the violence in cities their protests have lost meaning.

I respectfully disagree. PEACEFUL protest and standing up against institutionalized injustice is exactly what needs to happen.

Any one caught looting or destroying private or public property (including statues) should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I’m probably ok if it is an equality march, but if it has anything to do with the blm I suggest CJP let them all read their stated mission statement and vision. Not an organization suited for any moral young man Pruitt is trying to help grow into a productive citizen.

Someone with some knowledge on these protest please explain to us dumb hillbillies, that really can't afford to send our kids to UT, where we can find this so called institutiolized racism at. I would like to know exactly what it looks like.

Genuine question....what percentage of college athletes are black? And what percent are white?

How about the football team?

I agree, but what exactly are you referencing when you say “institutionalized injustice”?

Not bashing or an attempt to argue...just asking? What is an example of this?

So....Pruitt supporting his players could upset the fan base??? Why would his support and my support for the players upset the fan base?
Portions of our fan base support BLM. Portions do not.
Some people see everything thru a political prism of who you vote for.
Not just our fan base. Many people. Especially this close to an election.

In our country? In my opinion it is something we have been fighting since our founders codified in the Constitution that enslaved people, largely of African origin, were only 3/5ths of a human being.

I could care less about your political beliefs. What does your post have to do with Coach Pruitt’s support and my support for Tennessee football players?
