Its effing Candy..... Its candy. Who cares, We have owned them and our state in recruiting for a long time. Yes the have a win against us recently so what?? streaks are made to eventually be broken, I wouldn't go so far as to say they own the state....


Rather have your boy franklin try and keep his players from gang raping anymore of their female students....let us worry about football in Tennessee.

So, Vandy beats Tennessee once or twice every 40 years! Big effin' deal!!!!! I have no reason to even consider that Tennessee has EVER lost the State as far as the Commodadores are concerned!

Yet head to head record last 2 yrs is 1-1.... when Vandy's at an historic highpoint and UT's at an historic lowpoint. Also, you're talking only the last 2 yrs....sample size too small/p value definitely not statistically significant.

Vols picked a horrible time to go in the crapper.

SEC signing limits in wake of Ole Miss signing 30+ make it harder to crawl out of the hole.

Unlike Vols in 70s & 80s they must now compete for entertainment dollars with NFL and NHL in midTN and NBA in Memphis.

TN population is growing from people moving in who come here with established loyalties to other programs and most of their offspring will uphold the family tradition.

HD tv.

Recession.

Can't hire big name coach in 3 tries. Closest thing they got to a big name split town in the glow of burning mattresses.

Vandy got better.

MTSU got better and moved up.

Memphis moving up to BCS conference.

Bama wins 3 BCSNCGs in 4 years.

Not enough instate HS talent to build a homegrown roster.

What else? We've got more nails in our coffin than hairs on a goat's butt. I think we are the next Ole Miss unless we get a miracle.

We've got time. Problem is that the fanbase is not going to perpetuate itself if the wins aren't there. I grew up going to Vandy games when the stadium was rarely half full at kickoff and mostly empty midway through the third quarter. That's what years of losing will get you. Of course the bigger they are the harder they fall so it looks worse when it happens to a big time program.

I think it is so funny how candy beats us and they think there ready to be the top team in the sec. Ill admit they did beat us but in our defense they beat one of the worst TN teams In yrs with a clown as our head coach. It makes me sick how candy fans keep bringing it up. They better enjoy it because it will be there last. GO VOLS

I agree, but in reality, do you blame them? It's difficult being the Goat of the SEC, but I have to admit, I didn't think the Vols would ever be where we are either.
