Vols National Recruiter Rankings

You guys are delusional. Bama and Georgia has recruiters ranked high because they recruited well. Tennessee doesn’t because we don’t have a top 5 class. No wonder Butch was our coach for so long.

Yep, Butch being our coach for so long is one of the reasons this staff isn't ranked as high. One thing that is strange...we have the 13th ranked class out of 129 teams, but only have one recruiter ranked in the top 30. Is it because the entire staff contributes about equally and so the recruits are spread amongst the staff more. Are the higher recruiters at Bama and Georgia ranked so high because there are only a couple of really good recruiters and the rest are below average or what?

I believe each recruiting service have it's own recruiter rankings but is there a master one so to speak that's recognized above all? Don't beat me up to bad not knowing

The player rankings and evaluations of the 247 recruiting service have improved greatly since it was formed and includes a composite score made of all the big services’ ratings. I would consider them the master recruiting service over Rivals/Scout/ESPN.

I would do an adjustment by removing Alabama coaches, just because of Nick Saban, when he retires, it could change drastically. Once CJP has UT on the right track on the talent side, can he beat Alabama? I think he is smart enough to out scheme, but right now? nope, going 12-2 is not too shabby (we lose to Bama in the regular season and SEC Championship and win our bowl)

After Saban retires..........all bets are off........Tennessee takes over the SEC.

Kirby chokes in the big games, they could have gotten these results from their last coach. I don't believe Kirby is a better coach than CJP.

Coaches recruit very few players. One or two 4 stars can make you our break you. Coaches at GA and Bama, shoot up the list because of the programs success.

I am ok with a staff that recruits well across the board, spreading the wealth. If you have a super recruiter, he will be hired away. He will also attract the ncaa.

Star watchers act like 3 star players can’t be overlooked, so if we take a 3 he’s no good. I disagree. If you get a talented 3 *at camp you can separate him from the other threes. Also, if a kid only camps two summers, it is hard to get to many camps and get exposure.

I believe there is a correlation between stars and success. I don’t think the services rate players as well as coaches. I also believe Pruitt recognizes talent better tha his two predecessors. Jones recruited stars, Pruitt recruits talent. I think this class will prove to be better than similarly raked classes by the two previous coaches.
