In other news, another UT opponent Virginia is on the verge of going 0-3 down 28-14 to Maryland in the 4th quarter. I'm a little surprised on how UTSA is playing against Army. It could be a trap game looking towards UT. My best guess....
Virginia was expected to be trash.

UTSA has seen a big dip in production with Harris' injuries. If he ever gets healthy, it will look like a completely different offense.

Army is not a good team to measure any team against. Monken ball is absolutely awful to scheme against. When it's run well, it's really hard to score points.

Texas St, another weird team to measure against. They are absolutely loaded with transfer talent and there is essentially no trace of this ever happened in CFB, minus what Prime has done at CU.

As for Houston, they are a solid team. Would not want them as a future OOC opponent.

We are, I believe, within one year of being a team that no one really wants to play. Again.

'bout time.

Go Vols.

Agree on all counts. It's the era of the transfer portal ,and it's added more parity to the game. I think as long as UT wins the rest of their games in September (as they should),and make a statement, they should be in good shape. You play who's on the schedule.

Huge sack by the Army D to force a punt. 3+ left. UTSA using timeouts. If the Cadets get a 1st down here, all but over.

It occurs that academy student athletes have always been paid athletes, as active duty personnel.

Also, in the era of the portal, they're screwed.

Was anyone honestly ever worried about UTSA? If so. Then you are stuck in the Butch Jones era of football.
Well put. I wasn’t worried, but I was hopeful—hopeful that the UTSA matchup would provide more of a growth opportunity than the typical ooc cupcake game. Might be a vain hope at this point.

It's now just more widely accepted now that it's out in the open. Similar to conference realignment,I'm not a fan of all of it,but that's the way it looks like it's headed, and schools are taking advantage, and I can't say I blame them.

How much do you think these guys get paid? Remember, they also have duties outside football and during the summer. I’d guess the stipend the athletes at UT receive are comparable
