Come on down to Tennessee. There is nothing good about losing Selby but... there was a chance Selby was going pro after a year two. Would be nice to get a point guard like Blue who would most likely stay all four years. Nice height for a point guard at 6'3.

I don't get this. I'd rather have a potential NBA talent for one or two years than a guy who isn't and stays for four years.

Why? Greg Oden, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose.... one year players don't win championships. I highly doubt Kentucky is going to win a championship by recruiting one and two year players. North Carolina had similar classes and they didn't win championships until they were juniors and seniors.

5* Hansbrough
5* Lawson
5* Ellington
4* Green
4* Thompson
4* Ginyard
4* Frasor

Those guys were are from UNC's 05 and 06 class. They won the NC in 09. You don't win championships with one and done players unless there are a bunch of upperclassmen around them. Fab five didn't win a championship either. May be Webber's fault but still. I'd just rather have players who stick around to develop. JMO.

Question... you'd rather have Josh Selby for one year than Chris Lofton or Juajuan Smith for four years?

I want the best talent I can get, period. If that is a one year player, so be it.

I bet UK will.

Coach K doesn't. Coach K has always said he wants four year guy. I'll take his style over John Calipari's. The goal is to win championships, not send the most players to the NBA.

We'll see. It's this year or bust. Wall and Patterson will be gone. Cousins may be as well. They'll continue to get top talent but you're not going to get three top 5 players every year. Or whatever their rankings are.

Someone better tell Pastner he is going the wrong direction then.

Four star players like Barton will stick around and he will run over CUSA. I am just saying that underclassmen don't win championships unless they have talented veterns around them. I don't see Calipari winning a championship if he keeps get three players in the top 5 or 10. At Memphis he had some veterans around Derrick Rose when they made their championship run. Players like Rose and Wall can help win championships but I don't see them winning a championship as a group together as freshman. I could end up wrong but they aren't as strong as upperclassmen or have the experience.

Will Barton is a 5 star with both Scout and Rivals. He is also the top SG on both.

Pastner will go after a player regardless of being a possible one and done or not.

Lol. Coach K used to have one and done type players when he was winning championships. You may have noticed the downfall of duke since K has gone to this no 1 and doner attitude.

One and done or not, the program should go after the best possible players that they have a realistic shot at landing... bottom line. Get the best kids on campus.

IMO, the key is to get "one-and-done" talent and convince them to stay in school for 2-3 years. Last year's UNC team is evidence of that.

I suppose as a UT fan I'd settle for "only" making it as far as Greg Oden, Derrick Rose, Tyrus Thomas and so on made it in their only collegiate season. Shoot, if we got really lucky the Vols might even make it as far as Syracuse did with Carmelo Anthony.

Somehow I just now saw this. Anyway.

Let me answer by asking you a question. Would you rather go to the Final Four with a one and done type talent or make it to the Sweet Sixteen once with two guys who hang around all four years?

Very guard intensive focus for '10. Blue's a very solid player. That said, anyone who has him rated among the Top 10 point guards is mistaken.

I think the answer is yes but it remains to be seen.

Cremins at GT started this trend of one and done before people could be lottery picks with no college ball. Now that players have to play 1 year in college we are in new territory. Do some people have to adjust as freshmen? Sure they do, but some people are just grown men at 17-18 and can physically dominate college players. Think Lebron or Kobe would have won a championship in college? Still thinking about it? What about how much Steph Curry brought his team through the NCAAs with no NBA talent around him? You add a group of absolute stud players with a will to win and you have Kentucky this year. I hope we can beat them and I think there is a chance, but I also expect them to be amazing. Their biggest problems will be multiple huge egos and how they mesh. One great player with good players around works better usually than 3 great players fighting. But the celtics did pretty well.

Okay back to the Vols. Vander Blue is a long tall PG who would be great for us! If we can keep getting 4* guys under the system Pearl has and get them to commit to defense, we will be hard for anyone to beat.

Yeah, look at all of Duke's recent success in the NCAA Tournament.
