Yup, Atl is fine if you know where not to go.. problem is if you don't its not obvious. the place not to go is right around the corner/on the way to the place you do want to go. I am from Chattanooga have traveled there regularly over the years and lived there 2 years.Been to all of those cities and more, a lot. Grew up in ATL. Know where not to go, go with groups and if you’re by yourself just pay attention to people around you. Been to the SECCG and the Sugar Bowl. Been to NOLA probably 50 times or for work. Just gotta be smart about it. The crowds that come for championship games are a good deterrent given the large numbers. I travel with a decoy wallet. Someone wants my wallet, they’re going to get it. Toss it on the ground and haul @$$ the other direction.
Jacksonville.. 1. is in Florida and 2 is a big sprawling mess of hell no. Much like ATL and even N.O. if you know where to go and stick there its fine. The problem in all 3 cities the venue for the game is smack dab in the middle of he places you don't wanna go.
New Orleans is a LOT better than it was pre-Katrina...Hilariously Katrina forced a lot of the sources of that crime to cities like Jacksonville and Atlanta. But its still not a place to go sightseeing.
Nashville is a fine city for crime logistics would be a nightmare though. Have you ever driven around that area? I went to college in Nashville and lived right across the river from where Nissan is now. I rarely go there because its just annoying as heck to move around that city. Its up there with DC and ATL as most confusing city to navigate ever without the public transportation network the other 2 have to make it less annoying.
Atl is the best choice of places for SECCG, it has the infrastructure in place to make it less annoying than the other choices. Also its more centrally located from an SEC perspective to most teams fanbases. Also ATL is almost as much a homegame for UT, Bama, or FL than UGA.
