Been to all of those cities and more, a lot. Grew up in ATL. Know where not to go, go with groups and if you’re by yourself just pay attention to people around you. Been to the SECCG and the Sugar Bowl. Been to NOLA probably 50 times or for work. Just gotta be smart about it. The crowds that come for championship games are a good deterrent given the large numbers. I travel with a decoy wallet. Someone wants my wallet, they’re going to get it. Toss it on the ground and haul @$$ the other direction.
Yup, Atl is fine if you know where not to go.. problem is if you don't its not obvious. the place not to go is right around the corner/on the way to the place you do want to go. I am from Chattanooga have traveled there regularly over the years and lived there 2 years.

Jacksonville.. 1. is in Florida and 2 is a big sprawling mess of hell no. Much like ATL and even N.O. if you know where to go and stick there its fine. The problem in all 3 cities the venue for the game is smack dab in the middle of he places you don't wanna go.

New Orleans is a LOT better than it was pre-Katrina...Hilariously Katrina forced a lot of the sources of that crime to cities like Jacksonville and Atlanta. But its still not a place to go sightseeing.

Nashville is a fine city for crime logistics would be a nightmare though. Have you ever driven around that area? I went to college in Nashville and lived right across the river from where Nissan is now. I rarely go there because its just annoying as heck to move around that city. Its up there with DC and ATL as most confusing city to navigate ever without the public transportation network the other 2 have to make it less annoying.

Atl is the best choice of places for SECCG, it has the infrastructure in place to make it less annoying than the other choices. Also its more centrally located from an SEC perspective to most teams fanbases. Also ATL is almost as much a homegame for UT, Bama, or FL than UGA.

I think there will be some pushback from our newer members to move that game around to different venues. We will know in time.

My in-laws live in Nashville. We go downtown sometimes when we visit. I don’t really know my way around that well, but I have seen East Nashville get gentrified to a large degree over the past 20 years. My FIL grew up there and knows every single street and back way in all of Nashville to get somewhere. One minute you’re in a nice area of EN, the next you’re thinking you took a wrong turn. It seems to be a mix. And who would have ever thought Buckhead in ATL would be as unsafe as it is now??? What a shame.

It's the same in Nashville and ATL and NO... there are no real divides. I lived in ATL in Buckhead right where Midtown and Buckhead meet. But you're a hop skip and a jump to college part and Eastpoint and Bankhead is 7 miles away. I'd be driving around thinking man its nice here then 2 blocks away I'm scared for my life. Each corner you turn could have anything around it. If you're from there or spend time there its easy.... but if you're new in town its hard to know the good peachtrees from the bad ones.

Atlanta is just such a big city its gonna be that way things decay and develop at different rates. Smaller cities there are stark delineating lines. Atlanta is literally a bunch of small cities that are mashed up into a big city different police departments and jurisdictions. Metro Atlanta is located in 29 counties and over 17 cities. Nashville is just... Nashville. I just hate the street design there... everything else about the city I think is great.

Why is it curious? It's no secret that it's cold and rainy...not to mention the massive drug problem.
LOL, you aren't serious are you? Didn't it snow in Knoxville recently? Sure we get rain in the winter, but the reason it's rain and not snow is because it's not cold enough here to turn it into snow. For years, I had a standing golf date for January first every year, sure it was cold on occasions, but it was fun. Not once did we have snow on January first.

As for you're drug problems, in 2021 Tennessee ranked second for most deaths from overdoses per 100,000. Oregon wasn't even in the top 10. Only one state west of the Mississippi was in the top 10 and that was New Mexico.

Please tell me you didn't get so triggered by a message board post thst you went looking up weather and drug statistics from 4 years ago. Fine. Oregon is beautiful this time of year. Everyone wants to go there. The homeless drug problem is a myth and the pictures and videos are all fake. Go have a latte in your safe space.

Talk about "triggered" ease up. I'll admit I spent about a minute looking up a few facts, I like facts. It's a lot better than broad unfounded or misleading generalizations. Oh, and I am drinking a latte as I write this........ I guess that makes me a bad person.

Why way out there. The Rose bowl is actually a bad view inside overall to watch a game and the stadium is very old. It should rotate among all the big bowls like it always has in my opinion.
Just because it’s an iconic venue. Everyone would be working towards a common goal. I’ve never been so I don’t have the first hand experience of the viewing .
