Vols Play-in game

I was just wondering how we can be an 11 seed and in a play-in game? I mean, there are 3 play-in games in our bracket and 1 in another bracket...

I would think that there should be 1 play-in game per bracket, to make it more balanced. Also I think the play-in game in each bracket should all play for a 16th seed.

If you are the last 4 teams in, then you suck and should be the last seed!! This system really makes little sense.

I would like to hear more opinions on this. To me it's so dumb that if they can't make it uniform then just go back to the 64!!

Because it is a "play-in" game - Regardless of what the NCAA and others call it was, is and will remain a "play-in" game.

If it isn't a "play-in" game then why are there two (count them two) eleven seeds in the MW "play-in" game?

actually what the NCAA calls a game in their tournament is completely relevant. Your little made up definitions are the useless ones

Technically it's the last 8 teams in. But I agree Tennessee should have gotten maybe the 10 seed against Texas!

I would prefer to be where we are now then be a 10 seed. We will advoid the 2 seed until the sweet 16 not to mention we have a decent draw

We are not in the NIT. That's great.

We made it to the dance. GBO! Makes the tourney a lot more fun just to be in it for me. Hasn't been too enjoyable last couple years. Hope the Vols can make a run.

LOL...regardless of what the actual governing body calls it, what fans have dubbed it is more official? Makes perfect sense.

After the hissy fit Cuonzo threw last year for not being selected, then a terrible loss in the 1st round of the NIT, the NCAA felt sorry for Cuonzo and is giving him a chance to prove his team should be in the tournament, therefore they have decided if Martin can coach his team to a win against Iowa, his team will be included in the field of 64 as an 11 seed. If his team loses to Iowa, his team does not make the field of 64 and will not be seeded at all nor can his team participate in the NIT.

That about right?

still a play-in game... which it was considered a play-in game until 2011... if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, looks like a duck, it's still a duck....

:loco:

but I guess you would call it a fish.

Last time I checked, it's not 2011 anymore.

There haven't been play in games since the '80s.

After the butt puckering I went through when Nebraska, Dayton and BYU got their at-larges and UT's name still hadn't been called , I am looking forward to the play-in game.

I just hope we get the Iowa that has struggled recently and not the one that started the season looking like they could play with anybody.

GBO

I would call it what the governing body of the tournament calls it. Your definition is still irrelevant
