It has always been about making sure Bama and UGA are in.

On the BYU broadcast last night, the announcers said UGA was in the playoffs regardless of whether they won the rest of their games or not. That is just not true - if they lose to Ga Tech or lose in the SEC championship game they are NOT in the playoffs with 3 losses.

The same is true with Bama - lose to OU, Auburn or in the SEC championship and they too are NOT in the playoffs with 3 losses.

We have the 18th ranked SOS per ESPN now so that will come into play also. We were at 36th or something like that going into Georgia. There just is no sane universe we will drop into the 14-16 range, especially whenever we have a win over Alabama. Only 5 teams in the current CFP field (Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia) have as good a win as us. And the big difference with our loss to Georgia is we played them on the road while Alabama and Ole Miss got them at home. Georgia hasn’t lost a home game to anyone since 2019. 5 years!

One of Miami or SMU will win ACC other will be well below us

All Big 12 teams are ranked below us since BYU lost. So 1 of those will go in ahead of Us by being Big 12 champ.

With only 1 team from ACC and Big 12 getting in CFP pretty much guarantees at least 4 SEC teams get in.

To get 5 SEC teams in we need either Notre Dame to lose to Army or USC ..OR.. need Indiana to get beat BAD vs Ohio State.

Within SEC, We would need Texas to beat A&M cause if A&M gets in SEC championship they will probably jump us within SEC and Texas won’t fall below us even though they should. Maybe if A&M beat TX more than 3 TDs?

We can also hope Auburn upsets Bama or Florida upsets Ole Miss. both very unlikely.
If Mizzou loses to Miss st and Arkansas it changes the tiebreaker method in the SEC which starts a brand new argument
