Vols ranked 11 in coaches poll

It has always been about making sure Bama and UGA are in.

On the BYU broadcast last night, the announcers said UGA was in the playoffs regardless of whether they won the rest of their games or not. That is just not true - if they lose to Ga Tech or lose in the SEC championship game they are NOT in the playoffs with 3 losses.

The same is true with Bama - lose to OU, Auburn or in the SEC championship and they too are NOT in the playoffs with 3 losses.

We have the 18th ranked SOS per ESPN now so that will come into play also. We were at 36th or something like that going into Georgia. There just is no sane universe we will drop into the 14-16 range, especially whenever we have a win over Alabama. Only 5 teams in the current CFP field (Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia) have as good a win as us. And the big difference with our loss to Georgia is we played them on the road while Alabama and Ole Miss got them at home. Georgia hasn’t lost a home game to anyone since 2019. 5 years!

We can also hope Auburn upsets Bama or Florida upsets Ole Miss. both very unlikely.

I think anything is likely in the SEC - the Florida game is at Florida and Florida is playing good. Florida would have beaten UGA had they not lost their QB.

I think either OU or Auburn takes out Bama.

One of Miami or SMU will win ACC other will be well below us

All Big 12 teams are ranked below us since BYU lost. So 1 of those will go in ahead of Us by being Big 12 champ.

With only 1 team from ACC and Big 12 getting in CFP pretty much guarantees at least 4 SEC teams get in.

To get 5 SEC teams in we need either Notre Dame to lose to Army or USC ..OR.. need Indiana to get beat BAD vs Ohio State.

Within SEC, We would need Texas to beat A&M cause if A&M gets in SEC championship they will probably jump us within SEC and Texas won’t fall below us even though they should. Maybe if A&M beat TX more than 3 TDs?

We can also hope Auburn upsets Bama or Florida upsets Ole Miss. both very unlikely.
If Mizzou loses to Miss st and Arkansas it changes the tiebreaker method in the SEC which starts a brand new argument

You are the one that has one on. A 3 loss SEC team that does not win the conference championship is NOT going to be selected. I don't care who it is.

If those that select the teams thought that highly of a 2 loss UGA or 2 loss Bama team, they would be above Penn State, Texas, Notre Dame and Indiana right now. And we would see more than just Texas in the top 6. They are not.

No doubt we need 2-3 teams to lose for us to get in. All we can do is beat UTEP and Vandy and hope for a little help. Ultimately I still think we are going to end up being first or second team out. Just not quite there this year.

Show the actual proof that it’s ALWAYS been about keeping UGA and Bama in it. I don’t want to hear no theories or opinions. Show the ACTUAL PROOF. Tangible proof that everyone can read and dissect for themselves. Let’s see it.

Oh please, did you not watch the Georgia game or listen to the discussion during the week - it was all about how there was no way Georgia could or should be left out of the playoffs.
And then after the Bama loss at Neyland - we had all the "they piped sound in" craziness.

I watched every snap of the game. Yes there were bad calls. Yes they had a bearing on how the game went but guess what? That’s not why we lost. Oh wait let me get this straight. So the plan was for us to go up 10-0. Then go into the half tied and get the ball first in the second half. And then proceed to get dominated?

So Sankey told Kirby, hey man listen, we are gonna make it look like you might lose and then make every call for you? I asked for tangible proof and you gave nothing. You are just another dumb fan who thinks there are grand conspiracies in college football against us. And you wonder why so many in college football think our fan base is dumb. You give the rational and logical Vol fan a bad name.
