Given what I've seen lately, Bray is better than 7th and our line will be the best any staff will do this year at meeting a need.

100% agreement from me on this...Bray is definitely a top 3-4 QB and you are dead on about meeting the need on the line.

Smith is possibly a LB. Myles is possibly a LB. Williams and Taylor in this class. If we get Corey L...I think Smith is a LB. We do need one more stud LB but the issue is not depth for depth. If it is not quality we do not want it.

How did you enjoy all the positive news this week?

Really nice seeing that big orange T listed a few times at the top of the commits board. Even though we only picked up one at the game our hat was out there in the final mix for almost every player. Almost picked up an ROTC guy to boot. I think he was just a 2 star guy though.

I don't think we are in it for Shirley or even trying for that matter. We are trying to turn Nelson, Jones, and Owens but it's looking like Nelson is the only one we have a chance at turning. Depending on how the numbers shake out at other positions, I think we could end up taking Patrick Swilling...

I think Swilling could be great. The "experts" evaluated him as a CB. He is clearly a LB.

Or it is his son who played CB in high school...only a two star but it defies reason he should be atleast a 3 star...it seems they did not realize he is a LB in college.

Thats good info. I have felt so down after today. I have never watched a AA game and I did to see the commits we would get and only one. I saw bama and fla eat our lunch and coaches maybe leaving again...i know I know the sky is not falling but it is good to have the perspective this thread offers. Thanks! :hi:

I like this breakdown. It could be even more meaningful that the overall ranking in that it shows that we are filling our needs:
WR, QB, OL (which should even get stronger!), D-Line, K

for the doom and gloomers regarding LB,
we are tied for 28th spot on the list....and M.Taylor looks to be a star in the making (but only has 3 by Rivals). Add him to the returning freshmen from last year (which were ranked 4th on the list) and we should be improved.
Ditto for DB's. The only one they have us listed with is Dixon. It is possible that some other recruits (Meline) will be moved to DB....but again, we were ranked 5th last year so we are adding to that strong class.

once we get some of these foundations laid, we need to keep piling on some top talent.

I agree about Taylor .... he showed his Moxy in the UA game. Should definitely have been given another star from Rivals for that performance.
