I don’t know how you can not buy Bama unless it’s an emotional take because they’re Bama. They have the #2 SOS, 7 quad one wins, and have wins vs. Houston and Illinois at neutral sites, @UNC, @UK, @A&M, and @MSU. Their losses are @Purdue by 9, by 2 on a neutral floor to Oregon, and the loss at home to Ole Miss - all top 25 teams.

I think they’re clearly the #2 team in the SEC right now, with us nipping at their heels. We need to beat them @ TBA to have a shot at a #1 seed on selection Sunday.

Not buying them as a 1 seed. Best win was Houston in November.

A&M & Kentucky are good wins too, but they still have a minefield ahead of them. And seeding isn’t for today’s records.

Do they have a shot to be a 1 seed? Yeah, so do we. But I wanna see how many they win of those last 7.

Me to. I expected to stay 7-8

A lot more to do with the teams ahead of us and how bad their losses were.

Iowa State lost 2 in a row, one at home to 10-11 Kansas State
Michigan State went 1-1, but lost to 13-8 USC
Houston lost at home to Texas Tech

3 of our losses were to top 15 teams and we're one of the few teams that picked up a top 5 win this past week.

They really punished Iowa State though, dropped them 5 spots

Us moving up 4 makes more sense than Purdue at 17-5 jumping up 3 spots. Which included them leaping Marquette who beat them by 18.

I like it but and I paraphrase this with I’m not a Clemson fan, but how are the not in the top 12-15? 18-4, 1 loss in ACC, win over UK.

Clemson gonna need to keep winning or they'll be in trouble come selection Sunday.

2-2 in Quad 1 games (22 games in and only playing 4 Quad 1 is the concern)
6-2 in Quad 2 games (ACC is down, but having 2 losses to Quad 2 is rough, most top 15 teams have only lost to Quad 1 teams)

They have a NET of 30, with only 2 Quad 1 games left on their schedule. and 3 Quad 2 left.

Their SOS is 61st and Kenpom ratings are all outside top 25.

I am very high on UT but jumping to 4? Then again Houston took an L and jumped one spot.
I think the close loss at Auburn carried a lot of weight looking at the big picture.Obviously the big win against Florida minus two starters seemed to cancel out the loss to Kentucky imo.

Iowa State deserved to be punished, probably more than they were. They were fortunate most every other team in the top 10 also lost last week. We dropped 6 spots after losing by 30 at a top 5 Florida team. Iowa state lost to two unranked teams last week with the second one being a 19 point drubbing by a Kansas State team with a losing record on their home floor.

Still not sure I'm buying Bama just yet.

They have 3 losses

Still have this stretch of games to end the season

vs Auburn
at Missouri
vs Kentucky
vs Miss State
at Tennessee
vs Florida
at Auburn

That's the end of their season and they'll have no byes between any of those games.
We only play them once this year and at home.
That game could end up being for who gets that 2nd one seed. That home advantage is definitely a plus.
Flordia could end up beating us and Bama out, tho. Out of Us, Alabama, and Florida;
Florida has the easiest schedule left, IMO.

Lots of teams lost last week and ours was the “best” of the bunch, with Houston’s the second best, then we followed that up by pummeling the #5 team without two of our starters. Easy to understand.

Iowa State punished themselves by losing twice last week by a combined 30 points.

I’ve been saying this for a while, but I’m not sold on Florida. Outside of the January 7th anomaly, they’ve beaten nobody.

Yeah very true, 1-2 against top 25 teams thus far but both losses were on the road.

Florida has a weak SOS compared to Bama, Us and even Auburn...so they should be able to finish without many more Ls but they might be overseeded and get upset come March.

at 1 Auburn
at 22 Mississippi State
vs 10 A&M
at 3 Bama
vs 25 Ole Miss

That's the only ranked games left on their schedule

What do you mean “in trouble”? They’re not remotely a bubble team right now. Sure, if they go on a losing streak that could change.
