I'm just wondering how Pruitt is known as a closer. We struck out a lot at the end last year and let's face it, every assistant who has recruited at Bama, FSU, and UGA for the past decade has looked like a rock star on the recruiting trail....
My realistic prediction for the Vols finish to the 2019 class.
JaVonta Payton
Eric Gray
Darnell Wright
Khafre Brown
Kenyatta Watson
Owen Pappoe
Bill Norton
That’s 27.
Cox flips to Auburn and Tennessee recruits over Clemons. That puts Tennessee at 25.
Guessing that’s a top 10 class. Somewhere around 8-10, unless some guys like Beasley or Maurer get a bump in rankings.
Of course, I’m hoping Tennessee can pull some surprises like Haselwood, To’oto’o, Bogle, and Crouch, but at this point, I think the Vols are on the outside with them. Long way to go, though, and Pruitt is known as a closer.
So he struck out with a couple months on the job at a dumpster fire of a program? Dude had no time on the trail for the Vols and still vaulted up around 25 spots to get us out of the 50's.I'm just wondering how Pruitt is known as a closer. Can’t recruit over Clemons if you don’t get another pass rusher. But other than that I like this list. Need to win out to lock it down though.
Ya know what...I think you’re right. Clemons is better than his rating (as are Beasley, Payton, and Maurer). I’m going to revise my prediction. Keep Clemons and remove Brown. Probably only take one more WR and Payton looks to have that spot. And we need another pass rusher, which Clemons is.
Henry, JJP, and Banks will make a good future group of MLB's (I think JJ goes back to MLB next year, and mixes up some with blitzes - at least that's would I would do)

I could see JJ staying at OLB next year just to get on the field. With Kirkland and Bituli returning, and Henry coming in, there will be a logjam at ILB (even moreso if Tennessee signs Pappoe or To’oto’o). JJ could pass Deandre Johnson at the OLB spot in 2019, with Taylor at JACK. That might be the best way to get the 4 best LBs on the field. Then, in 2020, after Bituli and Kirkland depart, JJ slides inside.
Just a thought.
