The Tennessee offensive line was continuing doing its normal groupwork while media was present. With Mays being back, it bumped down Addison Nichols, Parker Ball and Vysen Lang – who had been filling in during his absence. The tight ends were hitting the blocking sled and going over steps out of their stances. When the group moved on to something else, freshman tight end Ethan Davis stayed back and got some 1-on-1 time with Alec Abeln on the sled.
Joe Milton looked good throwing the football. He threw one beautiful dime that dropped in right at the back of the end zone for Chas Nimrod to haul in before going out of bounds. Nico Iamaleava threw the ball well, too, through a couple of his balls were dropped by receivers while the media was present.
As we were walking off the practice field, the cornerbacks were doing their back pedal before a ball was shot out of the juggs machine and they then flipped their hips and tracked it down for the interception. Jordan Matthews and Rickey Gibson both made it look effortless.

Sophomore Tyre West was at the top of the line, if you want to read into that at all, and eye-test standouts for me were James Pearce Jr. (looks like he came out of a factory), Amari McNeill (brought some power), Elijah Simmons (big man moving fast), Omari Thomas (looks like a pro even going through drills).
Joe Milton III actually underthrew Kaleb Webb a bit, and Nico Iamaleava threw two beautiful passes on his three attempts, hitting both Nathan Leacock and Michael Bittner (who dropped it off his fingertips) in stride down the field. The Vols are still a little limited at wideout with McCoy and Keyton not practicing and White limited, so it could be a young group for Saturday’s exhibition.
How did Mays’s return shake up the offensive line? Well, redshirt freshman Addison Nichols, who has been the first-team center in his absence, slid over to left guard. He’s expected to compete for that starting job in addition to backing up Mays at center as he looks to make an impact.

Tennessee is hosting at least a handful of targets for this morning's practice, including five-star Class of 2025 athlete Cameron Sparks of Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Class of 2024 linebacker Bodie Kahoun of Roanoke, Va. This is a visit Kahoun has had scheduled since he visited the Vols on March 4 for one of their junior days.

They're also hosting a group from Cincinnati's Withrow High School that includes four-star Class of 2024 CB Terhyon Nichols, Class of 2025 WR Quintin Simmons Jr. and Class of 2026 WR Chris Henry Jr. Henry is the son of former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry.

Nice words on Omari, hope he plays like a PRO all season long.

"eye-test standouts for me were James Pearce Jr. (looks like he came out of a factory)" order a few more then

Man we have a lot of OL options, will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Good depth all across the board.

I can't remember a Tennessee teambeing this solid from a roster standpoint as they are right now

For me:
the cornerbacks were doing their back pedal before a ball was shot out of the juggs machine and they then flipped their hips and tracked it down for the interception. Jordan Matthews and Rickey Gibson both made it look effortless.
I mean it's a juggs machine I would assume it should be. It's not like they are olinemen converting to DB's.

Well Milton should be helping them a little by not throwing 100mph slants but it is what it is I guess lol
Last season Heupel responded to a similar suggestion by emphatically contending that the receivers are there to receive, and if they can get their hands on it, they better bring it in.

You mean, you want JoMil to throw at 15mph so opposing DBs can intercept him? I figured our WRs having fly paper hands was a good thing, guess not.
Well maybe 50ish mph would be good for him. I honestly didn't know what that meant, that was a new one on me.

I mean yes. I get that but the QB should understand when to put touch on it. Wouldn't be surprised if that combination leads to some tip drill INTs.
