Great to hear how several of these incoming freshmen are giving veterans a good go of it in practice right off the bat. That shows the kind of talent Heuple & Co. have pulled in. Can't wait to see which ones contribute this season.
pili probably has the edge but boy do I hope it’s Carter by mid season his ceiling is through the roof I love this LB class with Carter smith and telander.
Golding was most likely gone anyway but when Saban sent him on a desperate mission to prevent Carter from committing before their in-home…and Carter wouldn’t even see him at the school? That sealed it imo.
“Just their retention,” Banks said on what has stood out through two days. “A lot of time when freshmen come in, one of the hardest things for those guys to make in terms of adjustments is just the mental capacity of what it takes. Obviously our playbook is a lot more advanced than some of the high schools they came from. So their ability to grasp what we are trying to get accomplished from an x’s and o’s standpoint and then their sheer tenacity. We are extremely pleased with them. We feel most of those guys have a chance to be extremely special as they continue to grow within the program.”
Makes sense he would be mature. AP made a statement last season that having him here would be huge for him and his brother because of the way they feed off and encourage each other. Sounds like two impressive young men
