What are the buildings that surround the practice fields? I see new construction too—at one end, a building with lime green siding and at the other end, steel girders going up.

reading through the lines, kitselman has a torn pectoral. That sucks. Depending on the extent, that is a bitch to recover from.

My brother had that injury, surgery. And has struggled. need kitselman this season
I tore my right pec 10 or so years ago and had that surgery also.

I remember that there are like 4-5 types of tears (tendon from humerus, tendon from muscle, muscle tear in the meat of the muscle, and apparently a really rare type where it can tear away from the sternum). Mine was the more common version: “type 1” which is tendon from the humerus.

I was in my 20s and had played football through high school and then through a lower level of college football. The doctor told me that the type 1 tear is common among football players (current and even ex players) due to weight lifting history and the physical contact nature of the sport.

Physical therapy for it was tough. It was weeks before I could open up my arm and shoulder outwards. But I am back lifting these days - though not the weight I was doing in my early 20s 😅

My understanding from my experience with the injury is that a realistic timetable could have him back by fall… but it really does depend on the type of tear, how severe and whether it was partial/complete, and how his body responds to physical therapy.

Prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery for him 🙏

Crazy young WR core this year. I can’t think of a time when Tennessee has ever been this young.

You know there will be some hard learning experiences but watching such young players try to compete in the SEC is exciting.
One of those Dooley years I remember a ton of freshman playing, not just WR.

On how QB Nico Iamaleavahas improved since the end of the 2024 season…
"Command and control. (He has a) complete understanding. Some of that is with checks, it's controlling your protections, understanding hot (routes), and then within the scope of that, being able to put him in different positions because you have that trust in him. This is a time of growth, for him and for everybody that we have on our roster."

On the running backs' performance in the scrimmage…
"I thought (DeSean Bishop) and (Peyton Lewis) did a really nice job today in the run game, but also in pass protection. I thought the young guys that are new to our football team went out and executed extremely well, popped some runs. But I liked the way they finished them, getting pad under pad and going plus-two."

On how he feels the offensive line is coming together so far this spring…
"At this point, we don't have just a first five. We are playing guys in multiple positions, seeing their ability to handle it, but also seeing their growth and execution within that. There is great competition every single day, and we are going to keep that going as we go through the spring."

What do they mean new offense?
there have been talks about not having the WRs split so far out in some formations. some other wrinkles that we haven't seen, or rarely, showing up more in practice. Using RBs to actually run routes instead of being drop off targets, targeting the middle of the field more.

no clue if its actually a real change, experiments for the sake of experiments, or just gamesmanship. you have to remember that the media gets a VERY limited view of practice. so it may not be much of an investment in time.
