Me neither. I can't tell if it is disrespectful to the military, e.g. Kellen Winslow's "soldier" comment, or just a really interesting marketing technique.

At the very least, I can respect an organization that has the wherewithal to purchase and customize a bright orange light armored vehicle.

I'm a member. Is the name Big Orange "Army" offensive or do you take exception to something else about it?

I'm a supporter of the armed forces, and maybe the attire and such used by the BOA may be a little unnecessary, but I also think it a little vain to be upset by it. There are many definitions for "army" and not all have to do with war/armed forces, ie:

4.any body of persons organized for any purpose: an army of census takers. 5.a very large number or group of something; a great multitude; a host: the army of the unemployed.

We are a multitude of Vol fans that are organized for a purpose, so that covers both definitions.

Just hearing that woman for about 10 seconds, I can see why fans around her would complain. She's annoying sober...

...turn in your helmet and chevrons rwemyss...
Did you watch the clip? If I had that behind me all game drunkenly yelling "Go Volsssssss, D-FENSE!!!" While we're on offense, etc. I would complain about it too. :p

Helmet and chevrons? Gladly, I think the BOA thing is dumb. I like the orange LAV, and the deuce and a half, but it is pure marketing. A few guys trying to make some $$$. Which is fine, but I'll spend my money on official UT stuff.

Can you imagine the prospect of knowing that you had season tickets and she was going to be there every single game?

I saw an actual video of her at a game--yelling. Cannot remember where I saw it.

She would grate on me as well...but I wouldn't turn her in to the university muscle.

I think she should sit in the LSU section, and cheer, when we play them next month...

There are 4 units: Infantry, Iron Cavalry, Heavy Mechanized, and Amphibious. O, and Remus, you apparently aren't educated on the BOA. You say you have no problem with it, but, if you are going to spend money, you are going to spend it on official UT stuff. Well, the BOA is officially licensed and supported by UT, making it "official UT stuff".

Also warrior, what if Adidas bought the rights or whatever and had their logo on the merchandise.

To me it doesn't matter if it is somebody in their garage or a faceless corporation selling the product. If it is Vols and I like it, I'll buy it. I haven't bought any of the BOA stuff though.

I don't buy Vols stuff with Nike logos on them though...it's an adidas/nike thing. Kinda like Ford/Chevy...

I'll agree with you there... the Athletic Department certainly could have handled it better than they did.

Sorry I haven't read the life story of BoA HV. :p How about this... I don't like the logo and I think it is a little weird. It looks like some guy just came up with it and decided to paint his Jeep orange. How's that? :) I don't like the student organization "Orange Nation" either... I go to UT, I'm a Vol. Isn't that enough?!?!?!

That's cool. I just usually like to know the background of something before I rip it. But I suppose it is just a matter of opinion, no problem there.

As for the Adidas/Nike stuff, I usually buy Adidas, but I bought a Nike Vol shirt this year. If it catches my eye, I'll buy it. I don't really have a big loyalty to certain brands.

i bought a pretty nice Columbia jacket licensed by UT. i do like to stick to products that are closer to the shade of orange the school uses.

Ironically, that vid was shot just after the PA announcer gave his, "Pay these prices and pay...no...more" speech.

"Yahhhhhh....yeah....pay no more...yahhhhhh....Go Vols!!!"
