Finally a voice of reason. And the NIT is iffy at this point. How can anyone think with 2 SEC road wins that we can double that number in the last stretch? And the home game to Candy will be a toss up at best. Face it, this team is at best a .500 club.

It's not people thinking its gonna happen, they are simply saying its possible. How many though UGA would win 4 in the sec t?

The point is that until its mathematically impossible it is still possible, that all. I don't believe anyone actually is thinking its going to happen.

Voices of reason are few and far between around here lately. I'm a VFL, but heaven forbid you state the obvious, that this is an average team with serious flaws. They've shown flashes of improvement but they're by no means NCAA tournament worthy. Beating a struggling UConn in TBA and FL twice does not absolve them from the many bad losses on the resume. Why folks can't be happy with a possible NIT bid, I'll never understand. Note that I said possible. A loss to Vandy and a 1st round exit in the SEC Tournament could very well kill those aspirations.

if we can focus on one game at a time then maybe, to many people looking into the future instead of the next game....:twocents:

For those that can't stomach possibilities, maybe we should mention that rpiforecast predicts an 8-8 finish 103 RPI.
Anything better than that would be a major achievement for a team picked to finish 11th or last.

If they rip off 4 in a row like they just did there's no chance?

We likely have to make the sec tourney final and possibly even win it

Just looking at it at the moment... we have 1 less win in consideration than our record shows because Chaminide is a division 2 team, we're carrying around several really bad losses to Oakland (15-14), Austin Peay (10-19), and Charleston (16-11) (don't know how badly the loss to UGA - now 12-13 - weighs), the team's rpi is dreadful - somewhere in the 100s,

and while the team has 3 nice wins (2 at home) against UF (twice) and an at-the-time ranked uconn (now 16-10), the team's 0-2 on neutral courts, 1-8 on the road, and (might as well include) 3-6 against ranked teams, 1-4 against ranked teams when not playing at home...At the moment I'm not going to (or able to) get into rpi vs top 25 or rpi vs top 50/100 (including home v away) at the moment

How's the team need to finish to get an NIT invite?

If we finish 16-15 regular season, we'd probably need at least one win in the tourney to get to the nit.
17-16 would probably land a bid.

I don't even think we have to finish that well. The new criteria states one of their biggest things they're now looking for who can sell tickets, travel and draw viewers on tv.

Did you skip elementary school?

I'm fairly certain KY has beaten Vandy on the road and UT has beaten UF on the road. 1 to 1 if im correct with more KY games on the road coming up.

He's actually correct on this one. Vandy wasn't ranked when you guys played them and you haven't played at Florida yet.

I saw and changed it. I was hoping people wouldnt see it. Looks like you already saw it by the time I was changing it.

Vandy has been teetering on the edge of top 25 for a while. I thought they were 24 when we played.

Candy is gonna be teetering on the edge of 3rd-7th place if they don't show up better int the 2nd half against UGA.
