Vols Tourney Opponent Iowa ...

That's very debatable. UT also has the two best players, two best rebounders, and the best defender. Should be a UT win by a decent margin based on their play the last few games. As bad as they shot against florida, they would've beaten a whole lot of teams that day still.

Its really not too debatable. Iowa played a tougher schedule. Non conference and for sure in conference. The Big 10 is a gauntlet compared to the SEC schedule. Regardless, it should be a pretty good game. I just feel that Iowa is more talented, man for man. Iowa's depth will most likely be the difference maker for them.

Thay have just as many quality wins, if not more than we do. And play in a much tougher conference.

They beat Michigan by 20 on Michigan's home floor.

And also beat Xavier and UTEP to a pulp.

Yes they have good wins, but they beat Xavier by 3 in OT (can't figure out if your "pulp" description included them).

Man, I know both of these teams very well. My wife is an Iowa grad, so I see them all the time. If both teams play to there ability, there is no way UT can beat Iowa. Both teams play a similar style, but Iowa is just a little better at it. Iowa has more weapons as well. UT relies on a couple of guys to carry them, and don't seem to have good depth from the games I see. Iowa is a little deeper and has four guys that can be legit scorers. Plus Iowa has played a much tougher schedule during the year. Iowa should win this game by 5-10 points.

According to ESPN Iowa's SOS is 44 and ours is 11. Mainly because of non-conference. Iowa non-conference SOS 184, Tennessee 41.

Love that avi fellow panic fan. Wish i was in the DR. Hittin Seattle, Portland, Reno, Santa Barbara, and LA.

But about basketball, i agree. UMASS is not near as scary as Iowa.

The problem is that we could win by 10 or lose by 20 and I wouldnt be surprised.

Cuonzo consistency for ya.

Yeah I made it down there last year, and the year before in Mexico. Couldn't swing it this year though, but I tell you it was worth every penny.

Something interesting: Fran McCaffery's son is scheduled to have surgery on a thyroid tumor on Wednesday morning. There's some discussion that an assistant may coach.

So your telling me a UT team that beat the Brakes off Virginia by 30, could not beat Iowa at its best???

From what I've heard their styles are not similar. Plus if Iowa was so good you would think they wouldn't have lost 6 out of their last 7.

Man, I hate to hear that if true, but if so I hope his son is okay as family should always come first.

Best friend is an Iowa fan so I've watched many Iowa games this season. People forget that before this last stretch or games Iowa was ranked 10th. They've sucked the last few weeks but this is by no means an automatic win. When they are on I think they can beat anyone on a neutral court. With that said we are hot and they are not. I'll be in Dayton, go vols!

After thinking about it more, your right. Iowa tries to run more than they did in the past. I guess I should have said that both teams don't mind playing a grind in out type of game if need be.

Not the Iowa team that beat the brakes off a Michigan team by 20. Both wins were a long time ago. As I said, both at their best I think Iowa wins it.

Exactly. Big 10 schedule trumps SEC schedule 10 out of 10 times.

Except our SOS is ranked a lot higher.

Also our styles are nothing alike.

Calling an easy win by a team that was just bounced from their conference tourney by Northwestern and lost something like their last 6 out of 7 is a bit of a headscratcher.
