That suggestion reminds me of the Sunday I went to preach at an African-American church, when I was a Pastor in Georgia. (I promise you what I'm saying is the Gospel truth.) When it came time for the Sunday offering, two guys that were about the size of an offensive lineman went to the back door and stood as they passed the plate around, the deacons counted the money and the head Deacon rose and scolded the members for not giving enough telling them no one was leaving until they gave enough money. And brothers and sisters they raised the funds required to satisfy the Deacon board. However, I must add this tidbit of advice. Don't try this in an all Caucasian church. Let me tell you from experience that don't work. Also, put a cash drop box at every entrance gate to Neyland for home games. If everyone put in five bucks that’s half a million every single home game.
Additionally, the Southern Baptist in me wonders if we could also “pass the plate” DURING the game
Reminds me of this classic Flip Wilson sketch (with Red Fox) where he comes up with a novel way to increase the offeringThat suggestion reminds me of the Sunday I went to preach at an African-American church, when I was a Pastor in Georgia. That may be accurate, i dont know.
However, if 1/2 of the fans donated $25 per month, the money would be plentiful IMO. And honestly, many/most of us piss aeay more money than that weekly.
Assuming 500k people donated $25 per month/$300 per year, that would be $150M per year...
My challenge to any fan complaining or worrying about recruiting, find $25 per month and make a difference. That is all it would take to put us in the position to attract all of the talent needed to compete.
I like the idea of passing the plate and change the 3rd Q song to "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and side eye anyone who doesn't know the words, just like church. Also, put a cash drop box at every entrance gate to Neyland for home games. If everyone put in five bucks that’s half a million every single home game.

Your call and if the runors of the university directly paying players are true, your money may have some impact on recruiting. Until then it will have little to no impact on the level of talent this team fields.I'll donate the money to the scholarship fund but not to a collective. Sorry! For me my donation is all about providing educational opportunities to folks.
Did he make the announcement like this: “the good news is we have the money needed, the bad news is it’s still in your pockets”That suggestion reminds me of the Sunday I went to preach at an African-American church, when I was a Pastor in Georgia. We all gotta do what we gotta do. But i would hope the ones refusing to be a part of the collective arent complaining about the talent on the field.
We get you don’t like CJH. Almost every one of your 19 posts are negative comments about CJH. Interestingly you weren’t on Volnation posting those things in 2022.If Heuple isn’t active in the portal he should be fired immediately. His stance that he would rather build his program by freshman recruits is garbage all of our opponents are actively filling their roster through the portal. Only old school coaches are not taking advantage of the transfer portal
I understand and appreciate that. Just hope you dont conplain about the losses to the teams loaded with talent. While I love to watch the Vols and Lady Vols play, I am all about education first. I buy tickets, go to the games and spend money there for food. If the revenue from the tickets and the revenue they get from television and radio, merchandise sales can't fund the sports programs, then maybe they need to scale back on those.
I donate to give back as a result of the education I obtained, not because of the sports programs.
