VOLS winning at the right time

We will be a 8-9 win team . Maybe a 10 win every now and then
We're already an 8-9 win team this season after losing almost every elite player to the nfl or injury. Meanwhile, our young players who were recruited by the staff showed flashes of greatness/ gained valuable playing time, and our young coaching staff adjusted to unfamiliar/ new formations/ philosophy to fit the limited personnel/ style and pace of the SEC. There was bound to be a drop off/ learning curve, but let's not forget Heupel had the number one offense last season and he'll have the most talented QB with the most potential, UT has had since Peyton, leading the charge next year. To think we won't be better next season is a ridiculous thought. Remember how you felt after the Bama game last year? You'll be having that feeling way more often.

And if you study history at all, that’s pretty consistent with who we are as a program. I’d much rather take that than 5-6, 6-6, or hoping we beat Vandy at the end to get to 5 wins (something we dealt with for over a decade).

For most recruits it boils down to 2 things:
1) playing time in year 1 or 2
2) specific skill development
The stats say to me it comes down to winning games. Look at recruiting classes for top schools. Uga, bama, etc. They are winning, contending for championships and they have top classes. Everyone who goes there knows they are 3-4 deep on the depth chart behind 5 stars.

I have to disagree slightly. We beat Bama last year and had them beat at their place this year. Only the refs saved them in that game. We are closer to them than you think. Only BVS keeps us in the other mentality.
Wonder if Bama fans will be complaining about who got what calls after tonight’s game?

Will Lord Sankey protect UGA tonight with one of those Birmingham Buffalo Wild Wings calls?

For 4- and 5-star recruits, you need to add NIL opportunities. A path to the NFL as well, but if it's a solid scheme that fits the player your two points will help in that regard.

It's not ridiculous when you consider the massive roster turnover from the Pruitt recruited seniors to the Heupel recruits, and this being Nico's first year as a starter. It will be a very young team that should win 8-9 games with some health and solid development, but it will set the stage for a real breakout season in 2025.

I am afraid that is about to change. Their new coach has built a good football team at Duke with no where near the talent TA&M has.
But he’s not Jimbo on the recruiting trail either. Fisher was always known as an elite recruiter. That’s not debatable. Elko remains to be seen. They will be better coached, but aren’t likely to have the level of talent they have had under Jimbo. Sumlin was also a very good recruiter but couldn’t hold onto his talent.

That was was said when Jimbo got there and they were supposedly buying the best as well. Nobody knows how things will shake out. GBO

We might be better and only win 8-9 games. 9-3 would be a very good season

With their NIL, he doesn’t have to a great recruiter. Money talks

Maybe in your grandpa’s college football. If you don’t think NIL money isn’t the main thing now for most high profile D1 recruits, you are woefully naive. It’s a pro sport now. If it boiled down to playing time in year one, Nico wouldn’t be at UT. Money talks and BS walks.

Glad to see these players getting their American rights finally given back. Everyone deserves the ability to make money off their god given name! College football is on the rise!!!

For the elite recruits it comes down to 1 thing: how are you going to develop me so I can make as much money as possible. Saban and Smart point to all their 1st round draft picks, and the rich get richer

Duke is in the acc where FSU and Louisville are this seasons top 2 teams now ask yourself where U of L would rank in the SEC
