If we get 6 or 7 its moving in the right way,dont think we will have the fire power on offence like we did last year,

Side notes: UGA offense is stacked this year with Murray coming back, I don't think our defense is ready for them just yet.
W/o Lattimore at SC we have a better shot at them and I think we get the W at home.
We won't beat bama this year, but I have a feeling in 2014 we are going to be really good and upset bama.

i am fvl but how can you think be beat ore. and lose to flor. we was hanging with florida last year. i think we lose to ore. bama. and either flor. or ga. we will beat one of them maybe 9-3 but think 8-4 but hope for 12-0

Oregon & Alabama are gonna be ugly. The only way to beat them is to keep the ball away from their offense with a powerful running game, and luck.

I would of liked to of seen UT play the Ducks about 10 years ago on the road, now not so much.

I like the optimism, but the realism is, if you see this @ on the schedule it's probably gonna be a loss. 7 a.m. and the thoughts of our road trips have ruined my day.

I love the optimistic beliefs. On the realistic side 8-4. We could pull off a few we're not supposed to. Should've beat UGA,USC, and UF last year. We were with Bama till half way through 3rd then they over powered us. Now with a new staff and mentality we'll be fine.

I like optimism, but need to get into the recruiting results from the last 3 years and this class. Jones has his work cut out for him.
I expect a better product on the field from a coaching standpoint, but beating teams on the road like Oregon is a few years away.

This is where I'm at right now. I can find seven wins on the schedule, and with a decent draw on the bowl game (Music City, Liberty), getting to eight wins is really possible. 7-6 or 8-5 would give us tons of momentum in recruiting and help us build toward a resurgence, possibly even pulling in an Ole Miss-type class next year.

why do people think were going to win 9 games when we lost our entire offense and are starting over with an entirely new system and our defense was nothing less than an absolute disgrace last year? 6 wins would surprise me in all honesty and be a successful season to me considering the past 3 years and the fact that the schedule is brutal with oregon bama and florida away...id be happy if we kept the oregon game respectable which i dont see happening

Because Kelly left. That and the graduation of Barner are the only things that I can really think of. Honestly, I think South Carolina and Georgia are more realistic upset possibilities, but even they are longshots. Because of the presence of South Alabama and Austin Peay on the schedule, 7-5 is the record to get bowl eligible. I see 7 wins. Pull off an upset against a SC or Georgia and that will be a very nice record and a good start toward returning to relevance. We aren't ready to beat Oregon on the road or Florida/Bama anywhere. Gotta go one step at a time.

Coaches don't get paid millions of $$ to beat up patsies , you gotta beat the big boys to keep your job, plain and simple. A signature win would give CBJ the momentum he needs to keep the positive vibe his hiring has sparked. :yes:

That's fine, but his "signature win" isn't coming against Florida, Oregon, or Alabama this year. He could pull off a nice upset of South Carolina or Georgia (probably not both). If you are still complaining at 8-4 after not getting that many wins since 2007, I don't know what to tell you.

10-2 and I would be in heaven. I just dont see it happening. However, I see Butch pulling a minimum of two upsets this year.
