'20 WA OLB Sav'ell Smalls

Bringing this over here from the Gilbert thread, but Atlanta Vol seems to like where things are standing right now with UT and Smalls.
That’s VN speculation from the cryptic Disney sing-a-long riddle. He hasn’t openly said anything (not that I care). At this point if the staff doesn’t want it leaked, I’d rather it not be said.

He's not guaranteeing the Vols get Smalls or anything. Just that they're in a good spot with him coming off his visit here.

Here’s the prediction I did. Got them going 5-7. Think the Boise L will send them down hill.

Wow they must have really gotten Butched bad. They "should" still have plenty of potential talent and Briles should be worth quite a bit to their offense. Though who knows how much even he can do in year 1. He killed it at FAU when Lane let him run things, amazing at Houston when Applewhite let him be free.

Guys like this will bring us back!! Man if we can show some improvement on the field this year and turn some heads, watch out cruits will be lining up!!!

Can football hurry up and get here!!!

My question is - what is good to him? 7-5 enough or do we need to blow the doors off?

Even with how bad their conference is, I could still see them going 3-9 or 4-10 I just think taggart is a bad coach combined with a bad team makes for a bad season.

FSU might have another tough year, yall. Taggart is doo doo.
He may be alright. He did well at turning around SF and WKU. Time will tell. He needs a few years. I'd be fine with anyone that can challenge Clemson and Gators and knock em down a peg.

He had 1 good year at USF (which was his last year). He was on the hot seat leading into that season. Then bolts to Oregon

He was 8-5 the year before that. For a program that went 5-7, then 3-9 before he came, I have a hard time believing them not being happy with 8-5. Then the program went 11-2 and that carried over to 10-2 the year after he left. Quite a turnaround by any standard.

I do think his history is that it takes time for him to get things rolling. His offense requires the right personnel fit.

Jimbo left a disastrous, toxic situation there. The question is if FSU fans have the patience for a 4 year rebuild.

They probably wont be patient (especially 4 years worth)

That’s kinda the problem, too. FSU has a baby soft schedule and that could get 10 wins without a quality win, but it’s still 10 wins. If Tennessee gets to 8 you know they won some dogfights. I don’t know if even Taggart could screw it up that bad.

Taggart would lose his a$$ in the SEC.

Tennessee looks like it might be a legitimate contender for Smalls coming off his visit to Knoxville the past few days. Still a long way to go in that one — he plans to sign in February — and they need to get him back on an official visit, but he’s planning to take an official visit to UT as of right now. He’s a realistic possibility for the Vols, in my opinion.
