Wake Forest Announcer Fired For Giving Game Plans to Opponents

Wakeyleaks: Louisville AD Tom Jurich released a statement Wednesday admitting his coaching staff accepted, shared and used knowingly stolen information. Days after their game vs. Wake, Bobby Petrino on ESPN stated the staff had no knowledge of Wake’s game plan. Very bad look for Louisville. Can’t imagine more ripples from these leaks aren’t coming out…soon

If the don't can him immediately how bad does Louisville look?

I keep re-reading Jurich's statement, and I am further and further amazed that this idiot came out with that. He admitted that they cheated. He admitted that they had an undue advantage. And yet he excuses it because Wake didn't run the special plays that were leaked.

Un-****ing-believable...

From the Louisville board they are saying Wake is accusing Army of having their plays also.

They are blaming the media and SI for this and saying "saying it's no big deal like the hoops stuff".

Really?? Buying hookers for your student athletes isn't a big deal?

While that is a huge deal, I can't help but think this Wake Forest deal is even bigger. Receiving a team's plays, gameplan, etc compromises the integrity of the game itself. It's tantamount to game-fixing.

Oh I agree. Even read that the guy was passing out the game plans since 2014. Gotta be alot of teams involved in this.

Petrino could absolutely lose his job over this and be terminated for cause...again. I wonder how many other schools got plays from Elrod. They are all guilty of it and the people at the schools who got them could be terminated, right?

Jack Sells did this very thing to us with Florida. Unless rules have changed, merely ACCEPTING information from another university's employee would hardly be reason for a show cause. Now if it could be proven that Elrod was financially compensated? Once again, with the caveat of rule changes. No one was punished in our faxgate.

Probably plenty of fans (like on this board) that would chalk it up to "doing whatever it takes to win". Prolly increase the threads to hire Petrino on Volnation.

What a cop out answer. It should have been reported immediately. Not sit on it until after the game and say well we knew most of that and since those plays never came up it's not a big deal. That's like your wife sending pictures to some guy and when you confront him he says I've seen boobs before and we never had sex, so it's not a big deal.

Virginia Tech AD said today that a former assistant coach received "game plan information" from Elrod before their game with Wake Forest in 2014.

Zook had had a good career beyond Faxgate...he is now the ST coach of the Packers

Jack Sells sued Kinkos and won and used the settlement to start a corporate recruiting firm

Jack could have been a star coach, it started downhill when he was not forthcoming to the NCAA in regards to the LB (that ended up at ND). I still remember him getting slugged by a UT fan that recognized him in public.

He recruited Dale Carter, Mims, and Dafney for sure. Maybe Chuck Smith also.
