I have done everything I can to convince myself and others that UK won't make the finals. But honestly I don't see them losing again until next year. I don't even think they will have a close win.

What did you think about Calipari's press conference last night?

"Everybody picked us to lose tonight. To be the first number 1 out."

If that isn't the most bold faced lie ever told, I don't know what is.

Well, there was poll on ESPN in which everyone thought UK would be the first #1 to go out. On top of that, 3 or 4 of the "talking heads" he referred to (Bilas) also made that statement. So it was out there.

What you might fail to realize about it, is that is isn't about whether he lied or not. Thats irrelevant (although its not a lie) He took something from the media, though perhaps small, and spun it in his teams favor. What coach wouldn't do that? He just happens to be one of the best at it.

If Pearl came out after the SDSU game and said "Most of the guys at ESPN were picking us to lose this game, but what do they know", would you call him a liar? No... you would be on the wagon.

Some people were picking Kentucky to be the first #1 out, but I don't know anyone who said they would lose to Wake Forest.

Good for him. Good pick. Cornell is playing really good basketball right now and shooting hot. I think that any upset talk regarding UK's first two games would have to have been to generate some interest in two bad mismatches. I don't think Cornell upsets UK, but it is the first legitimate shot at an upset over UK. But, that's why they play the games. Cornell....maybe.
