Wow, that was a great game! Fun to watch... it's a shame Wake couldn't draw more fans from Winston-Salem. Good grief, what an empty stadium.

Off topic but the sideline reporter for the game, Kris Budden, used to work for WBIR, the local NBC affiliate in Knoxville. She used to come in my branch at First Tennessee. Nice to see her doing well.

Probably why they played in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte rather than some of the bowl options. They’re a small fan base (they’re behind at least 3 NC schools) and not a big draw; when bowl eligible, they’re unfortunately still not highly desirable to most of these bowl games regardless of whatever their record might be.

That said, the cold weather is not helping any open-stadium turnouts in the region.

Really entertaining game. Good one to start off the bowl weekend.

However, this bowl should have been Wake Forest - Missouri while Texas A&M should have been in the Texas Bowl playing the Longhorns. I’m not sure who it was opposing the placement (Texas, A&M, or the SEC front offices...I’m thinking it was the last one), but it was too perfect a set up this year for it not to have happened.

I'm an A&M fan. I don't care. I was laughing. Typical A&M under Sumlin. The defense lost the game. Not the PI call (although the officiating was horrid). Good riddance old Sumlin staff. Welcome Jimbo.

Wake is basically the second favorite team of every non Wake alum in NC. You're either a UNC, State, Duke, ECU or App State fan and then a fan of Wake when they play either of those teams.

What a game and the Wake Forest football team almost matched the number of points that the basketball team scored against UT which was 60.
