I just love all the people on VN that prejudge a kid right out of high school, LOL!

You never know what can happen in 2 or 3 years, he could grow 5 inches, put on 40 pounds and become a All American QB for us.

He might become the best pitcher UT ever had.

I have to admire his spunk, grit and courage and choice of team to come compete on.

Best of Success young man!

VFL...GBO!!!

Why walk on here if you are from Clearwater Fla? Serious question.

Ever been to Clearwater?

Just kidding. Seriously... some guys dream of following in the footsteps of Peyton Manning, some hope to plod the path blazed by Jim Bob Cooter. I'm thinking most likely he wants to become a coach.

What an opportunity, to spend four years participating in and observing a major program from inside! The staff may even have a "curriculum" for guys like that. After fulfilling his primary position meetings (including special teams) he might be allowed to sit in on another position meeting certain days, or shadow a coach during a drill. But certainly the off-season access it would afford him would be invaluable.

The benefits wouldn't flow just one-way: after 3 or 4 years, his familiarity with the program would have equipped him to be an especially-productive graduate assistant.

Plus, if he can make it as a holder, Vol history says he has a good chance to run at least one fake field goal attempt per season (against Missouri, most likely). But first of all, he provides insurance. Given our recent luck on injuries, you never know when we suddenly might have no one to QB the scout team, or throw passing drills while we rest the #3 QB for a gameday start.

Situationally, defenses may not know what plays the #3 QB runs well, but if they know there's no one behind him... they can rule out defending chunks of the playbook that put the QB at risk for injury.

This is what happens when Tennessee alumni network with parents of good athletes at private schools. Calvery Christian is not some small school with a football team...it has a big stadium and is filled for every home game. The church has over 3,000 members. Mize is a good athlete maybe better at baseball. And the Vols are recruiting well in Florida.

Tony Dor-sett was Tony Dor "sit" too.

Yeah, but that was his own idea well after he got to Dallas. I remember Roger Staubach's response being that how his name was spelled is different from how it was pronounced, but had other things to worry about than that. Staubach or Stawback, he didn't care.

Is he on the baseball team as well?

So, how long before this guy becomes the Paul Bain of the QB room?

Young man should go Div II

His running ability looks better than some of the RB film I have seen. He has good move, see the open field, appears to have good speed, and can throw the ball accurately. I can see him as a slot player with options of reverses, halfback passer, punt returner, or kick returner.

Honestly I think with his height and running ability he would be a good rb equivalent of JJ. Have him run the ball and throw some trick plays in there where he throws the ball. It's about the only way i see him getting playing time.
