Wall/Cousins- Selby/Harris

If Harris were at Kentucky where the Refs would carry his jock for him, he'd be just as dominant, if not more dominant, than Cousins. When Cousins didn't have a ref holding his hand, he was not the dominant force inside we saw in the SEC.

Same for Wall. His outside shot was bad.

As far as talent, I think Selby can be as good or better than Wall -- it is near impossible to make such comparisons. Just think of guys like Bledsoe, Holloway, Fortson, Terrico White, and Kenny Boynton. If we had tried to say how any of them would perform as freshmen or compare them to anyone a year ahead of them, it would have been futile. Fortson and White were much better as freshmen than most thought they would be. I think Bledsoe was better as well. Boynton probably wasn't as dominant as his press might have suggested, but was still good.

The point is that Selby could be better than Wall. Only time will tell.

Harris plays a different position than Cousins and is a more diverse type of player. Comparisons there are very difficult.

The one thing I believe may be similar is that if we get both Harris and Selby, I think they both make first team All-SEC. I think the Vols will be the SEC's best team (regardless of who Kentucky gets). At some point, coaching makes a difference.

I really don't care. I challenged you to back up your assertions that he is a thug. We've seen enough of Cousins to form an opinion but I doubt your research goes any further than a 2min youtube vid.

Never said Harris was a thug. But things like this have never helped his reputation. The jury is stil out on this kid.

Mr. Basketball leaves tourney on a sour note

Considering none of us are on the team, it doesn't really apply. And we'll refer to Kentucky however we want and you'll deal with it or leave.

Very quick trigger on the "you'll like it or leave" arguement. I like it.

This is one area people don't give Cal enough credit, that is meshing, blending and getting these high profile guys to play hard and be a team.

I honestly have doubts if Pearl can do it, but it would be fun to see him try.

How quickly you forget that Cousins has thrown elbows.

Not surprised coming from a Kentucky fan with a buff greasy guy in blue as his avatar.

Sounds like you're an avatar fan. Also not a surprise.

Buff-greasy guy, easy there little fella. Don't get too descriptive there. And you're calling me an avatar fan?

How is Cousins a thug? I guess since he wears blue then his behavior on the court can't be classified as passion and a desire to win.

He punched his High School Coach in the face. And you must not have watched the Louisville game huh? And if I may ask, why are you still defending this kid? He served his time in college and now he gets to do what he really wants to.

I think Cousins is/was young. That CAN = thug, but it can also just = young.

I'm a full on Vol Fan, but 'thug' actions happen to everyone...was it Melvin Goins (?) that threw a blatent elbow to someones midsection and the slow-mo caught it in all of its DAAAMMMNNN! Glory, lol

I think that they are hard comparisons to make, but i think that selby can be as good as Wall but it could take him more time. Both Selby and Wall are great athletes so that translates over well. As for Harris he is a more skilled guy that can play inside and out. Cousins is a guy that stays in the low block and he does very well. But i have to say Cousins takes two steps every time he touches the ball. I got so tired of Jimmy Dykes saying "great footwork". He walks every time. Then Cousins only move was basically hooking the guy. They let Cousins play so he did well, but if they called fouls on him like they did on B Williams then he would have fouled out every game.

Selby is very good, but he is a different style of guard then Wall is. IMO Wall has more athleticism and ability to open up the court for other players, while Selby has a clear advantage in his shooting ability and being able to draw defenders to him. Cousins is a beast down low, but Harris can pull away from the basket and be more mobile. It's hard to compare both duos. But anyways, there is only one way to find out if they will be better or not:p

Go read up on and watch video on Harris. I think you might change your mind. And i don't think that anyone on the TN bb team can refer to someome on the KY bb as a thug. How soon we forget...

When cousins lived in Birmingham he got kicked out of his high school for punching his coach in the face...i think we can call him a thug

Not just someone - none other than Cousins.

I heard Selby's outside shot is better than Wall's.

And Harris is not the physical freak that Cousins is.

I love the Selby Harris combo but its hard to discuss until Selby commits. from all accounts I have heard Selby is a Jayhawk.

Harris is the second coming of Carmelo Anthony but with better handles.

He absolutely abused Harrison Barnes in the closed scrimmage at McDonalds with execs from all 30 NBA teams.
