Importance maybe. Fun no. Besides, the travials I read on here aren't those of just any college football fans. They are the travails of Volnation!! See, you are correct. All we need is perspective. Anyway, working with the kids is not really work, it is the most fun I've ever had. Kids in Honduras, the Vols in the USA, and Jesus in my heart. Life couldn't be better.

No but the rabid fanbases and the tickets and money they make are still elite. They are two of the winningest programs in NCAA History, just like the Vols. The Vols got snubbed on this, just because of the last 5 years. Really sad.

EDIT: Notre Dame just made it to the National Title game, and Michigan would still be doing good if they didn't run Lloyd Carr out of town.

Notre Dame embarrassed themselves and their program last nc game demonstrating they are nowhere close to being an upper tier program these days, they had no business there, what, down 21 points in the 1st quarter? Gmafb!
