We don't need a TE, we need a friday night starter...unfortunately, big he may be, location is a problem we already have. :)

Does it seem like Serrano just likes the HS kids more than going the JUCO or transfer routes? Osuna looks like a heck of a hitter for WS..I'm not sure if he was one of the commitments to other schools that Gramps mentioned

I'm going to speculate...I think he looks at programs like VU and UF, they don't have many juco guys...to be fair CDS has gotten quite a few juco kids, just not WS/local kids. seven guys on the current roster are juco...Taylor Smart, Scott Price were juco's...

Can't build true stability with guys that will be here 1-2 seasons if they are good, and will be sucking ups scholarship money for 2 seasons if they're not ready.

Delmonico tried to wean the program off JUCO kids and this occurred during the low period of the late 90s.

Plus if you said a JUCO kid, they have as equal chance of turning pro after draft as high school kid.

You'd rather train the kids yourselves, than risk relying on kids you didn't train or coach.

The main problem now, is a lot of the high school kids are not panning out like they were supposed to and judging by what went down late, it may have been attitude related with some- especially several we were relying heavily on.
